Colton + Lindsey, a Hyatt Tamaya Wedding

We’re total suckers for a childhood crush turned full blown romance years down the road, so its no surprise that we are incredibly smitten with Colton and Lindsey’s love story! Their beautiful fall wedding at Hyatt Rengency Tamaya was the cherry on top of an already amazing little tale of love.

These cuties met at church camp 14 years ago and instantly became friends before they started dating in 2013. And being huge lovers of Disney (something that we share too!) it was only natural for Colton to propose at Disney World. After two previous trips to Disney Parks, Colton made it happen on their third trip together! While stopping in the France Pavillion to take a picture, Coton got down on one knee and proposed to Lindsey in front of her family (he had even been in contact with one of the on-site Disney photographers to capture this moment, swoon!).

Flash foward to this fall and these two pulled off the sweetest darn day ever! Everything was not only gorgeous, but all of the personal touches and details Colton and Lindsey put into their day were beyond words. From creating their own glass signs (which were absolute STUNNERS btw) to the precious little Funko cake toppers to performing a dance they learned in their living room, Colton and Lindsey are seriously the definition of amazing, down-the-earth lovers! This day was such a freaking fairytale, we’ll never stop obsessing over every aspect of it!

Cheers to the Woodruffs, we adore you guys forever and ever!

Jason + Natalie, a Southwestern Rehearsal Dinner at The Pink Adobe

It’s not a secret that we became absolutely obsessed with Chicago lovers Jason and Natalie after their lovely White Sands engagement session and we just knew their wedding weekend in Santa Fe was going to be one for the books!

These two kicked off their celebration with a festive rehearsal dinner at the ever-so-quaint Santa Fe gem, The Pink Adobe. Complete with a New Mexico inspired cake by our girl Zara at Maggie’s Wedding Cakes, to custom gift bags designed by Funky Olive Designs (who used this same amazing design for Jason and Natalie’s wedding day details), to a surprise appearance by a tequila donkey, this night was just the tip of the iceberg for a truly incredible wedding weekend

We can’t wait to share Jason and Natalie’s out-of-this-world day here on the blog, but until then, feast your eyes on this perfect Santa Fe night!

Angela + Her Girls, a Family Session

One of the most special parts of this amazing adventure we get to call our career is being able to capture not only couples and weddings, but families too.

Before Angela was our bride, we captured her and her darling daughters multiple times. Most recently we spent some time in the gorgeous foothills with Angela and her babes. We always adore our time with Angela because she just instantly feels like a best friend, it’s so easy to just do our thing and have an amazing time when capturing her and her family! We love you so much girl, thank you for always trusting us with the most precious moments of your life!

Wedding Inspo - Glass Wedding Signs

This year we’ve seen some of the most dazzling wedding day details and displays, but the one that has really caught our eyes (& hearts) is glass signage! Tons of our couples have displayed this growing trend on their special days that we couldn’t help but share the beauty of these unique details with all of you!

Each of these signs were not only unique in color and design, but each set truly represented the couple they were created for. From the simple cactus drawings, to the handprinted colored beauties, to the mirror-like signs, all of these wedding day details were beyond dreamy.

Check out all of these incredibly beautiful, yet so modern glass wedding signs, they are certainly a sight to behold.

Wedding Inspo - Ballgown Bridal Gowns

As any wedding lover knows, classic and chic bridal looks are always in style. So this week we honed in on one of the original and most beloved bridal gown styles to date, ballgown wedding gowns.

While this wedding dress silhouette has seen dozens of changes over the last century, we know one thing is certain about ballgown dresses, they never fail to make our brides look like absolute queens all day long. The last few seasons we’ve captured a few absolute stunners including an unreal Pnina Tornai beauty that pulled major inspiration from Duchess Kate Middleton’s iconic gown to an enchanting Reem Acra number that gave just the right amount of couture to an epic summer wedding to a charming Randy Fenoli creation that brought all the delicate jewel details imaginable.

If you’re looking for the perfect addition to a modern yet classic wedding day, ballgown wedding gowns can add the right amount of elegance. Not only do they look flattering on every single bride out there, but these ballgown beauties add the right touch of bridal style magic to every soon-to-be wifey.

7 Mistakes a Bride Makes During Her Wedding Week
A Guide for Brides by Hannah Stevens

Wedding days are meant to be special. It is the time where you celebrate your love with your partner – a day to remember for the rest of your life. If everything doesn’t turn out the way you expect, however, you might remember the stress instead of happiness. Although you cannot control everything, there are some common pitfalls you can avoid to make sure that your wedding goes as planned.

Procrastination

Perhaps the biggest mistake brides make is waiting until the last second to finalize the details of their weddings. Always remember that doing so gives you a small window for beauty treatments, spa days, and wedding rehearsals. Make sure to finalize everything as soon as possible to keep everything on track for a smooth wedding day. Consider making a list of tasks to accomplish before the wedding.

Not Having Hair and Makeup Trial Runs

Waiting until the wedding day to try out your makeup and hairstyle might catch you off-guard. Bear in mind that part of a successful wedding day is feeling as confident and beautiful as you can be, after all, which includes having your hairstyle and mascara in sync. In order to avoid disappointment, always do a trial run of your makeup and hairstyle to ensure that you are satisfied with the way you look.

Hiring the Wrong Photographer

Oftentimes, couples fall into the trap of hiring the wrong photographer. When looking for the right fit, it is crucial to look for someone whose work matches your vision for your wedding day. This is not only to ensure that you will be proud of the images when you post them online but also helps make sure that the images stand up for decades to come when you show them to your children or even your grandchildren.

Scheduling Bachelorette Parties during Wedding Week

Bachelorette parties are exciting. After all, it is the last time to go out with your girls as a single lady. It is a good idea to try and schedule bachelorette parties for at least a few weeks before the wedding. Alternatively, you can schedule a bachelorette party during the wedding week – but make sure that it does not involve heavy partying or drinking as both activities can leave you feeling less than your best while walking down the aisle.

Failing To Tie Up Legal Ends

Failure to tie-up legal ends is an expensive problem. So, make a checklist of all the legal paperwork needed before your wedding day. Also, don’t forget to check the local laws and obtain a marriage license within a set timeframe. Keep in mind that laws differ from state to state, too, so you’ll want to either work with a professional or make sure you’re reading regulations for your specific state.

Doing It All

Every bride wants to be in control of their wedding. Unfortunately, not letting others step in and help can prove detrimental to the success of the event. During the wedding week, make sure to step back and delegate tasks like finalizing seating charts. Better yet, you can hire a professional to take care of the little details of the wedding.

Not Getting Enough Rest

In the week of the wedding, it is quite normal for a bride to be anxious, but don’t let it keep you up all night. Lack of sleep often results in exhaustion, a weak immune system, skin problems, and difficulty concentrating. Always stay well-rested and follow a sleep guide to avoid compromising your big day.

Chris + Ari, a Los Poblanos Wedding

Have you ever met someone who just instantly felt like your longest lost pals? We know that it’s rare, but Chris and Ari definitely gave us those, “feels like I’ve known you & loved you my whole life vibes” before, during, and after their wedding celebration. These two lovers aren’t just incredible people to capture, they’re two of the sweetest, most kindest souls we’ve ever had the pleasure of crossing paths with in life!

Chris and Ari’s story begins much sooner than most couples’ stories do, these two met when Ari became friends with Chris’ sister in 5th grade at the Maret School in D.C.. A few years later, he became Ari’s high school crush, but when he brought home a college girlfriend in 2001, Ari decided that he wasn’t for her (even though the universe had a very different idea). Flash forward to 2017, post college and post travel life, these two reconnected serendipitously at a bar over Thanksgiving (and Chris was still just as cute and much sweeter than Ari remembered) . Ari was living in NYC at the time and Chris in San Francisco, but fate intervened when Ari received a job offer in the Bay Area. About six weeks after moving there, Chris and Ari went on their first date and the rest is history.

And if you didn’t think that their love story could get any better, Chris and Ari’s proposal was out of this world too. Chris popped the question under the Brooklyn Bridge in New York right before Thanksgiving (only two years after they had reunited). After, he surprised Ari even more by taking her to a stunning hotel where all of their families were waiting to celebrate with them! And if you need any further proof that Chris is, in fact, major husband goals, unbenownst to Ari, he already booked her dream wedding venue, Los Poblanos Historic Inn and Organic Farm, BEFORE proposing to her. Talk about setting the bar sky freaking high!

This September, we got to see the next chapter of their love story unfold on the most perfect day with some of the most stellar vendors. Everything from Ari’s simple, yet dreamy Lovers Society gown, to their unique, stunning florals by Bagel’s Florals, to a killer playlist by DJ Lady Sinclair of Haute Mobile Disco … it was nothing short of an absolute vision. Chris and Ari’s ceremony was full of tears and laughs, their romantics were downright stunning, and their first dance to “Coming Home” by Leon Bridges made us believe in that one-of-a-kind type of love all over again.

Chris and Ari, can we be best friends forever and ever? You two are nothing short of what love should be and we’re forever in awe over your love and adoration! Cheers to you two and #hersheychris until the end of time.

Jason + Ryan, a Ghost Ranch Wedding

Love comes when you’re least expecting it and Ryan + Jason are such a wonderful reminder of that truth. This fall, these lovers invited us to Ghost Ranch to celebrate their love and their life together, something that we were so honored to witness.

Jason and Ryan met at a Conversations About Buddhism group at a meditation center they both attended and Ryan was instantly attracted to Jason’s thoughtful, intelligent insight and contribution to the group. Soon after several chance encounters at a local grocery store (which has its own kind of cinematic, romantic vibe) Ryan realized just how special Jason is to her. Several years down the road, Jason proposed to Ryan on Christmas Day while on a trip in Lubbock, Texas with a photo album filled of their memories together and the words “will you marry me Ryan?” nestled onto one of the images. Needless to say, Ryan said yes to Jason who she described to us as someone who is, “capable of stretching a greeting into a thousand moments while the busy world whirled around in a fury.” (We’re not sure we’re ever heard a more romantic way to describe something as simple as a greeting before!)

Their quaint Ghost Ranch wedding was absolute perfection. From simple, intentional details, to letting the location of Ghost Ranch shine— which, in Ryan’s words, “meant so much to us, as nature is a cathedral for us both.” We were so moved by these two and the pure, spiritual love that they share on such a deep level for one another. If there’s such a thing as soulmates, Jason and Ryan are proof of that once-in-a-lifetime love that you just know the universe conspired into existence.

Cheers to these gentle souls and their love, Ryan and Jason are truly an inspiration!

John + Anna, an avant-garde La Fonda wedding

Over the last few wedding seasons we’ve spent a lot of time at the ever gorgeous historic La Fonda on the Plaza and we’ve captured so much love at this beautiful venue. So when John and Anna came all the way from Brooklyn, NY to celebrate their big day at La Fonda, we couldn’t wait to see how they’d make their day so perfectly unique. Lets just say, they did not disappoint. These lovers not only brought big East Coast glam to the heart of the Southwest, but they did it in a way that was outrageously fun, remarkable, and truly a celebration like no other!

John and Anna met through mutual friends at a holiday party and although John tried to get Anna’s number from their friend James, he was unsuccessful (but still managed to get in contact with her!). After several years together, John (discreetly) proposed to Anna with her grandmother’s wedding diamond (swoon) at Grand Central Station before surprising her with dinner at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in upstate New York.

Even though their wedding day had a surprise rainstorm, Anna and John didn’t let anything stop them from celebrating their love! During a slight drizzle (which truly made their ceremony all the more romantic), these two said “I do”surrounded by all of their loved ones on La Fonda’s famous La Terraza balcony. And if their ceremony wasn’t enough to make us super heart-eyed over them, John and Anna’s absolutely killer vendor team including Renegade Floral (bringing those stunning arches and bouquets), Maggie’s Wedding Cakes (with the craziest rainbow creation, shag rug inspired greatness), makeup artist Kata Baron (who’s the queen b of that natural bridal glow), Vera Wang (with a classic yet so dang modern bridal gown) and Diamond Empire Band (a crew that always brings down the house with reception jams) made this day one for the books! They also brought in paper goods and signage from their incredibly talented friend Natalie Soud (please come design our entire lives!) and bluegrass ceremony music courtesy of Santa Fe based Kitty Jo Creek Band.

To top it all off, these two surprised everyone with a choreographed first dance that included just the right amount of both ballroom dancing and disco! John and Anna didn’t just have a super glam wedding, they had a wedding that was completely theirs, true to them and we adore them so much for it! Thank you for letting us be a part of your epic Santa Fe party, congrats Mr and Mrs Redmond!!!

Jake + Angela, a Sandia Wedding

Even though Jake and Angela just tied the knot this September we’ve known these sweet lovers, and their two precious daughters for many years! Getting to hang out with them on their big day was a huge honor for our team and was such a amazing day to be a part of, we loved getting to capture the love of a couple that feels like family to us!

Jake and Angela met at the end of 2012 while Jake was out celebrating a work promotion and Angela was celebrating the completion of her Masters degree. Jake asked Angela to dance (with the wax on wax off dance) and the rest is history. Over the past 7 years, these two have had two beautiful daughters, welcomed three dogs into their home, and bought a house together! For them, this wedding was the cherry on top of an already beautiful life!

Although we haven’t captured a wedding Sandia Event Center since 2016, Jake and Angela’s big day was the perfect welcome back. Everything from this couple’s gorgeous navy and burgandy details, to dreamy romantics during blue hour to a first dance with their daughters to “Blessed” by Thomas Rhett was nothing short of perfection.

Ryan + Jennifer, a Sarabande Bed and Breakfast Wedding

In the midst of our totally crazy busy wedding season we ended up with the sweetest, most intimate B&B wedding in the heart of Albuquerque with Ryan and Jennifer. This day was not only gorgeous, but super laid back and still sooo dang fun!

Ryan and Jennifer’s love story began at everyone’s home away from home, work. Jennifer had recently moved back to her hometown, Albuquerque, and had started working for a local medical group where Ryan was a surgeon. She initially planned to move to Austin, TX, however, the universe had other plans. A co-worker, who may or may not be a modern day Cupid, conspired for Jennifer and Ryan to meet during a work presentation. Jennifer, who didn’t know who Ryan was yet or that she was destined to meet him, was desperately attempting to get out of said meeting (because who isn’t trying to avoid work meetings tbh). However, Jennifer ended up at the meeting and after seeing Ryan for the first time, decided to stay. After the meeting, Jennifer and Ryan chatted briefly about a few of their mutually similar things including their dogs, spending time with their families, and what its like moving back to Albuquerque after living elsewhere.

Over the course of several months these two crossed paths at drinks with co workers and work events, but after awhile Jennifer assumed Ryan wasn’t into her. Then one day, while monitoring her company’s Facebook page, Jennifer saw a touching message from a patient about how Ryan’s surgery on her had changed her life. Jennifer sent it over to Ryan and after several exchanges between them, Ryan finally asked Jennifer out. Ryan planned on proposing while they were on vacation in Italy in August of 2018, but decided to bump it up to their trip to Napa in July of 2018. However, Ryan didn’t want to wait anymore and in June of 2018 he pulled Jennifer into their home office on a random Tuesday night and asked her to marry him (honestly swoon).

After initially looking at several venues in Santa Fe, Ryan and Jennifer decided to check out our favorite little north valley gem, Sarabande Bed and Breakfast. They immediately fell in love with this uniquely beautiful space and knew it was where they wanted to make it official. With a tiny guest list and the dreamiest details, Jennifer and Ryan’s day was just one of those days where everyone feels so relaxed and like family. They kicked everything off with a 12 minute (!!!) ceremony and super fun romantics around their venue right before it started pouring rain. Everything about this day was genuine and intentional, from Jennifer’s sweet gifts to her two flower princesses to a teary-eyed father and daughter first look to a reception that felt more like a big family dinner and not just a wedding, this day was one we will always remember!

Cheers to the Tyners, we loved being a part of your day!!!

Ashwin + Lauren, a Hindu Wedding Celebration at La Posada de Santa Fe

Following the absolutely stunning traditional Catholic wedding in downtown Santa Fe, Ashwin and Lauren kept the celebration going with a Baraat, a Hindu wedding ceremony in which the groom travels on a white horse with a parade of family and friends to the wedding venue where the bride and her family awaits. We were so excited to capture this incredibly unique, yet beautiful tradition.

Ashwin kicked off the day in Cathedral Park, the garden area surrounding the Cathedral Basilica of St Francis of Assisi where he had celebrated part one of his marriage the day before, just as the sun was rising in Santa Fe. Once his white horse (named Gandalf!) arrived, Ashwin led a parade of his friends and family up the street to La Posada de Santa Fe, where Lauren and her family was waiting for him. After greeting Lauren’s parents at La Posada, Ashwin and the other guests were lead inside where a gorgeous mandap adorned with florals had been whipped up just for this day. Even though the ceremony is longer than most church weddings, the intricate traditions of it are beyond amazing to witness.

During the ceremony, the bride’s parents give away their daughter for marriage and floral garlands are exchanged between bride and groom to symbolize their acceptance of one another. Our dream bride Lauren started the day off in a gorgeous blue and purple sari (to symbolize her mother) and then changed into a vibrant red and organge sari (to represent her new husband’s family). After the ceremony, all of the guests were invited to the prettiest brunch and we got to spend just a little more time with these lovers. We loved that nearly every single person wore traditional Hindu saris or other colorful attire and to be honest, we’re OBSESSED with all of the bright, stunning colors. After this weekend, we wish that every single couple could have a two day long wedding weekend with all of the downright stunning traditions.

Cheers to this couple and their one-ofa-kind wedding celebration! SO grateful for sweet souls like Lauren and Ashwin, we loved celebrating this genuine, unforgettable love story!
