PREPARING FOR YOUR BOUDOIR SHOOT

Now that you’ve booked your boudoir session, here are some useful tips to follow that will make your experience and photos the best they can be.

1 MONTH BEFORE YOUR SESSION

It is never too early to start planning for your Boudoir photo session, and this planning should be a fun part of the process!  Think about what kinds of outfits you’d like to wear and get them together.  Pick out your sexiest heels

  • Find clothing, sexy heels, accessories and props to use in your shoot
  • Lingerie is nice, but sometimes a tight t-shirt, soft sweater, kimono or over-sized button-down shirt can be even sexier
  • Using something meaningful to your significant other is a great way to personalize your shoot
    • military dog tags
    • musical instruments
    • a favorite tie or button-down shirt
    • sports fan jerseys, hats and gear
  • Use Pinterest only as a guide for inspiration on posing and wardrobe but come to your shoot with an open mind! We got this :)

FIVE DAYS BEFORE

“Ladies, it’s time to pamper yourself”

  • If you wax, do so a few days before your shoot
  • Make sure eyebrows are nicely shaped and groomed
  • If you’re planning on getting a haircut or color, give yourself a few days to make sure you are happy with it
  • We highly recommend a salon manicure and pedicure for a flawless finish
  • Stay out of the sun – while a base tan will be nice in photo’s, red peeling skin will not
  • We recommend not applying self tanners or getting a Spray tan as they tend to leave un even blotches and streaks on the body. If you do feel like you absolutely need a spray tan, I suggest getting it done by a professional.
  • Drink plenty of water for luminous skin
  • Lower your salt intake if you’re worried about retaining water
  • Try on your outfits and lingerie to make sure they fit properly; remove all tags and labels before your shoot

THE DAY BEFORE

  • Shave and moisturize
  • Double-check everything you will be bringing the night before and make sure that you leave plenty of time to get to the studio without stressing – heels, jewelry, accessories and props
  • Have a nice and relaxing evening with no stress
  • Get a good night’s sleep – eight hours is ideal

THE DAY OF YOUR SHOOT

“get ready for a wonderful experience…”

  • Use clear deodorant
  • Wear loose-fitting clothing to your session to avoid red marks on your skin (no jeans, tight socks or tight clothing)
  • Eat something light but filling before you leave the house
  • If you’re having your hair/makeup done on site with one of our artists, come with clean dry hair and a clean face
  • Park on the south east side of the building (you'll see my door)
  • Have your final payment ready (check, or exact cash)
  • Finally, RELAX – we know it's easy for us to say but trust us when we say that, while it is completely normal to be nervous, please try to enjoy the process, you are in very good hands. Think of it as a sleep over with your best of friends, just hanging out and taking gorgeous photos! Our hair stylists and make-up artists are the best in town, and they will make you look amazing. We have several years of experience, and know exactly how to guide you, pose you and make you comfortable throughout the shoot.  This is usually a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most clients – enjoy it!
