In the middle of our wedding season we were lucky enough to be swept off to the Bay Area for what can only be described as a once in a lifetime love story. Angel brides Lisa and Vina celebrated over a decade of love with one another on a day that we still can’t believe was real. These lovers not only made it official, they showed the world just how timeless true love can be.
Long before saying “I do”, Vina and Lisa initially met online in 2012 via Tumblr through their mutual love of graphic design and a shared admiration of the K-pop group Girls’ Generation. What began with communicating on Skype, Twitter, texting, and phone calls soon culminated in Lisa and Vina developing strong feelings for one another. At first Lisa, who wasn’t sure what do with this unexpected connection, cut contact with Vina, but soon after realized that maybe their bond was one they needed to explore. Lisa traveled from her home in San Francisco to Atlanta (where Vina was living at the time) and their first in-person meeting confirmed their suspicions: they were two kindred spirits that were meant to be. After several years of long distance while Vina completed physician assistant school in California and Lisa completed physical therapy school in Nashville (where they eventually lived together for three years), these cuties made their way back to the Bay Area to start their new chapter together. In 2021, Vina surprised Lisa with a proposal on Baker Beach in San Francisco and, to make things even more serendipitous, Lisa surprised Vina with a proposal at White Sands National Park (an evening that we were so honored to be tiny part of). They both, of course, said yes and began to dream up their fairytale nuptials.
With California being one of the most special places for them, Lisa and Vina knew that Nestldown, a stunning little spot in the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains, would be the most incredible place to wed. From the softest of wedding details (just peep those romantic florals and elegant bridal looks) to personal touches (like including some of their cultural traditions into the ceremony) to making sure their loved ones had the best time (they had the best freaking food and next level playlists for the entire evening), Vina and Lisa created a wedding that was truly unparalleled to any we’ve been fortunate enough to photograph. To top off this emotional, absolutely breathtaking day, Vina and Lisa partied the night away with their besties and then took off to happily ever after (aka their honeymoon in Indonesia) in the most adorable vintage car. From start to finish, this day was filled with some of the most unreal moments of love, joy, and the most beautiful connection between two soulmates.
Not sure that this heavenly day can ever be outdone (nor do we want it to be!), but we are sure that Lisa and Vina were destined to be together. Cheers to a love that was written in the stars and will surely withstand the test of time!
