Wedding Inspo - Soft Minimalist Weddings

While our 2021 wedding season is in full swing and we’re obsessed with all of the new, stunning trends coming into the picture this year, we’re forever in love with easily one of the most iconic trends of all, soft minimalist weddings. These days are seriously everything to us and, truthfully, its not hard to see why.

A twist on the ever romantic classic wedding trend, soft minimalist weddings combine that old style glam with a dash of modern chicness. For us, there’s so much to adore about this trend. Whether its the sleek bridal gowns, the understated yet beautiful florals, or even the clean and simple details, we find something new to to crush on every single time. We love the way that minimalist weddings can take place at a lavender farm, in a backyard, or even on a rooftop in Santa Fe! Our couples who chose these elegantly simple days always know how to make their celebrations effortless and beyond lovely.

Here’s to all the pretty, ethereal days to come, we can’t wait to soak in all the soft minimalist beauty!!

Will + Jill, a Serene Los Poblanos Elopement

Last year we captured one more elopement for the season at our ever favorite Los Poblanos and it was the dreamiest fall day. Everything about Will and Jill’s tiny celebration was so perfectly beautiful and heartfelt, we adored this pretty evening with these two.

Will and Jill initially met through friends at music festival several years ago, but didn’t really connect until one year later through a dating app. Ever since, these two have been inseparable and knew that an intimate wedding would be absolute heaven for celebrating their love. When the pandemic hit, Will and Jill decided that they wanted to make it official at Los Poblanos and we’re so thankful that they did. From the stellar fall inspired florals from Florecita Flowers to Jill’s simple, yet so beautiful Reformation dress, this sweet little day was one of the best. Not only did we get to spend so much time with these two in one of our favorite places on earth, but we’ll never forget how incredibly touching their vows were or how Jill and Will always know how to make each other laugh. We’re forever inspired by the couples that celebrate love in their unique ways no matter what.

We’re looking forward to all the tiny celebrations to come, here’s to all the precious little wedding days at the most divine places around!

Eric + Lauren, an Intimate Los Poblanos Wedding

Every year we spend a whole lot of time at one of our favorite places on earth, Los Poblanos Historic Inn and Organic Farm, and this year was no exception. Even though we captured mostly intimate weddings and elopements at this dreamy location for the better part of 2020, every single celebration was still magical. We were so dang thrilled when Eric and Lauren decided to tie the knot at this little slice of heaven on the most perfect September day.

These lovers first met at Wake Forest University in North Carolina during their senior year of college. Even though they parted their separate ways after graduation, Eric and Lauren reconnected in 2013 when they both were living in Washington, D.C. A few little years down the road in 2018, Eric decided to pursue his lifelong dream of sailing around the world and set off from Annapolis, MD. Although his entire journey would take about two and a half years, Eric decided to propose to Lauren in January 2019 while she was visiting him in New Zealand.

True to 2020 wedding form, Eric and Lauren had to change around their initial celebrations plans a whole lot, yet their day still turned out to be incredibly beautiful. They chose to keep their intimate ceremony black tie, which we think is amazing, and had the most beautiful garden ceremony in the heart of Los Poblanos. From a candle lighting ceremony during their vows to dreamy romantics to the most stunning first dance in the iconic La Quinta portal, this tiny day was one to remember. And if that wasn’t enough, these two made sure to select some of the most stellar, local, women-owned vendors for their day including glam queens Betty Rose by Alanna and Jewel Hair Design, stationary artist extraordinaire Funky Olive Design, and floral babes Florecita Flowers.

Intimate weddings like Eric and Lauren’s aren’t just a little extra magical, they’re days we absolutely adore capturing from start to finish. Congrats babes, we’re forever in love with your special day!

Vendor Feature - Bagels' Florals

Each wedding season we’re lucky enough to work with a vast amount of talented wedding vendors and creatives, but we’ve felt extremely grateful to have crossed paths with Abigail of Bagels’ Florals just two short years ago. Not only is this amazing florist beyond her years in talent, she’s one of the brightest, most inspirational souls we know. We knew that we couldn’t let 2020 end without featuring her ethereal, colorful and exquisite work.

We are always beyond excited for every single celebration we get to capture that features Bagels’ work. A true artist at heart, every single bouquet, boutonnière, installment, and arrangement she creates is done with care, intention, and a passion to make the world a brighter place. We were especially honored to capture Bagels’ first two bouquet wedding ( a very special moment for her, an LGBTQ florist) this year for our lovers Brittany + Angie and she did a tremendously gorgeous job (we’re honestly still obsessed with her creations from that sweet little backyard wedding).

Beyond simply being an incredibly gifted florist and gardener, Bagels is also a major community leader in the New Mexico wedding industry. She consistently uses her platform to speak up for social change and action, inspiring other vendors and community members (especially us!) to do the same. We’re consistently blown away by how much love and passion Bagels holds for making New Mexico, and truthfully this world, a more compassionate accepting place for everyone.

We feel so increasingly fortunate to even know someone as talented, smart, and driven as Bagels and we know that everyone will continued to be inspired by this amazing human being.

Jeremy + Michelle, a Los Poblanos Elopement

A few months ago we got to be a part of Jeremy + Michelle’s incredibly intimate elopement at Los Poblanos and, dang, was it an absolute dream.

Long before these West Coast cuties were saying “I do” in the Southwest, Jeremy and Michelle first met 15 year ago (!) in California where they both worked at a yacht club. Jeremy had been hired as a Sailing Director and Michelle, who was home for the summer from college, was hired as a Junior Sailing Coach. They worked in this same place together for the next four summers and spent a whole lot of time sailing together. Michelle eventually moved to San Francisco after college, but these future lovebirds still kept in touch.

Even though they talked about moving to the same city to pursue something beyond a friendship, Michelle got accepted into grad school in England! Jeremy being the best partner on the planet, was incredibly supportive of Michelle’s journey and once she finished her program (and decided that she had enough of sailing in freezing weather), Michelle moved back to Southern California. The rest is history as these two babes never parted again!

For their sweet day at Los Poblanos, it was just Jeremy and Michelle (and us of course!). They had planned a tiny ceremony back home in California about a week after they eloped, so they wanted their New Mexico day to be a surprise for their friends and family. These two picked some of the most stunning yet minimalist details for their day and we were over the moon about it. From those neutral toned florals to the dreamiest sheath and lace wedding gown (that Michelle buttoned up by herself with her hands behind her back!!!) to Jeremy’s simple and classic wedding attire, we loved every inch of this day. After their sweet vows, these two put fresh soil and water into an apple tree they had brought all the way from California as a way of signifying their new life together. We got to finish the day off with the most fun romantics in ALL of our favorite Los Poblanos corners.

We’re big fans of tiny elopements at our favorite places and even bigger fans of sweethearts like Jeremy and Michelle. Thank you for creating the prettiest little day, cheers babes!!!

Shae + Chelsea + Jan, a Los Poblanos Team Session

For the last several years, we’ve been absolutely in love with sweet little Los Poblanos and all of its beauty. And when it comes to weddings and elopements at this dreamland, we hit the jackpot with the world’s most amazing little coordinator team!

Shae, Chelsea, and Jan have made our wedding days at Los Poblanos not only insanely pretty and seamless, but also so freaking fun. We adore these three incredible women and all of the hard work they’ve put into making celebrations so wonderfully memorable for a ton of our couples (and for us too!).

We love you three beyond words and can’t wait to celebrate love with you gals again someday!

Wedding Inspo - Pampas Grass

We’ve always had a soft spot for that soft, flowy, ever so subtlety-netural toned plant known as pampas grass, so when this pretty little plant started to take off in the wedding world, we were absolutely thrilled to capture it even more!

Originating from Southern American countries including Chile, Argentina, and Brazil, pampas grass was first introduced to the United States in Santa Barbara, California in the mid 1800s. And while this plant can sometimes push out other vegetation, it still manages to be extremely beautiful, unique, and very photogenic. Besides its common golden-yellow hue, pampas grass can also grow in colors from silvery-white to a soft pink (two shades that we want to see up close and personal).

Over the past few seasons, we’ve seen more brides and grooms take advantage of this versatile plant in their wedding decor. From using it as an accents in bridal bouquets and boutonnieres to subtlety placing it in reception centerpieces to adorning floral headpieces with it to letting it take center stage in both ceremony arches and aisle arrangements, the range of of what pampas grass can do truly seems unlimited!

We have a feeling that this interesting plant is here to stay for a few more seasons (and hopefully forever in the wedding world) and honestly we can’t wait to see what our couples do with it next. Long live pampas grass and all the bohemian vibes it encompasses on wedding days!

Daniel + Natzidielly, a Los Poblanos Wedding

Even though this dreamy day already feels so long ago, Daniel and Natzidielly’s Los Poblanos wedding at the end of February was everything we could have dreamed of and so much more!

These two lovers made their pretty little day sweet, intentional, and still so incredibly beautiful! Their ceremony was held right outside of Los Poblanos’ historic manor home (aka one of our favorite spots) and had a ton of unique touches from including their husky pup (in the most dapper little vest) to skipping out on the usual amount of florals (a touch that we ended up adoring!) to drawing and designing their own invitation suite (we need these two to design everything in our lives now!). Our bride Nat opted for the most heavenly gown from Kinsley James Couture Bridal paired with the most gorgeous wedding ring from Trabert Goldsmiths while her best gals wore beyond stunning emerald green beauties from Lulus! Daniel and his boys not only had the best style in suits from Suit Supply and Kenneth Cole, but they were an absolute blast to hang out with all day long!

After the ceremony we got to capture these lovebirds twirling in under those stunning silos, stealing kisses in the lavender fields, and, of course, getting cozy amid all of the late winter foliage! We loved how they made this day about love, family, friends, and making time with one another a priority! Cheers to more couples being inspired by those simple, intentional wedding days. Daniel and Nat have set the bar sky high and we were so over the moon to be a little part of their forever!!!

Wedding Inspo - Boho Bridal Gowns

If we know anything, its that boho brides have taken over the wedding scene these past few seasons! They bring in a carefree, wild-in-love, major queen bridal vibes and we are so on board for them. One of our favorite highlights about these lovelies are their gowns and how these dresses perfectly encapsulate that free-spirit energy we love so much on wedding days!

And just like every other style of gown, boho bridal gowns can be found in every single season and for every type of wedding day. From a long sleeve Lillian West stunner during a winter elopement at Eagle’s Nest in Northern New Mexico to a sultry little Lovers Society number for a summer wedding at Enchanted Vine Barn in Southern New Mexico to the most incredible, glistening Chosen by One Day beauty for the most insane White Sands elopement, we’ve seen gowns beyond our dizziest daydreams.

We can’t wait to see how boho bridal gowns, and the incredible women who wear them, continue to awe us on wedding days and beyond!

Chris + Ari, a Los Poblanos Wedding

Have you ever met someone who just instantly felt like your longest lost pals? We know that it’s rare, but Chris and Ari definitely gave us those, “feels like I’ve known you & loved you my whole life vibes” before, during, and after their wedding celebration. These two lovers aren’t just incredible people to capture, they’re two of the sweetest, most kindest souls we’ve ever had the pleasure of crossing paths with in life!

Chris and Ari’s story begins much sooner than most couples’ stories do, these two met when Ari became friends with Chris’ sister in 5th grade at the Maret School in D.C.. A few years later, he became Ari’s high school crush, but when he brought home a college girlfriend in 2001, Ari decided that he wasn’t for her (even though the universe had a very different idea). Flash forward to 2017, post college and post travel life, these two reconnected serendipitously at a bar over Thanksgiving (and Chris was still just as cute and much sweeter than Ari remembered) . Ari was living in NYC at the time and Chris in San Francisco, but fate intervened when Ari received a job offer in the Bay Area. About six weeks after moving there, Chris and Ari went on their first date and the rest is history.

And if you didn’t think that their love story could get any better, Chris and Ari’s proposal was out of this world too. Chris popped the question under the Brooklyn Bridge in New York right before Thanksgiving (only two years after they had reunited). After, he surprised Ari even more by taking her to a stunning hotel where all of their families were waiting to celebrate with them! And if you need any further proof that Chris is, in fact, major husband goals, unbenownst to Ari, he already booked her dream wedding venue, Los Poblanos Historic Inn and Organic Farm, BEFORE proposing to her. Talk about setting the bar sky freaking high!

This September, we got to see the next chapter of their love story unfold on the most perfect day with some of the most stellar vendors. Everything from Ari’s simple, yet dreamy Lovers Society gown, to their unique, stunning florals by Bagel’s Florals, to a killer playlist by DJ Lady Sinclair of Haute Mobile Disco … it was nothing short of an absolute vision. Chris and Ari’s ceremony was full of tears and laughs, their romantics were downright stunning, and their first dance to “Coming Home” by Leon Bridges made us believe in that one-of-a-kind type of love all over again.

Chris and Ari, can we be best friends forever and ever? You two are nothing short of what love should be and we’re forever in awe over your love and adoration! Cheers to you two and #hersheychris until the end of time.

Gustav + Jackie, a Los Poblanos Wedding

Gustav and Jackie’s incredible summer wedding at Los Poblanos was just a month ago, but we can’t help & gush over their 6 year long love story and proposal.

These babes met in the summer of 2013 while both working as camp counselors at Rainbow Trial Lutheran Camp in Colorado. Although Jackie had a boyfriend at the time, this didn’t stop these cuties from becoming the closest of friends. While attending separate colleges, Gustav and Jackie kept in contact and during one Skype session, Jackie convinced Gustav to set his dorm trash can on fire (don’t try this at home kids). When Gustav joined the Army in spring of 2015, and had to cut contact with pretty much everyone, Jackie assumed that their friendship had simply faded away.

However, in the best plot twist, Gustav reached out to Jackie in October of 2015 and the two of them made plans to meet in Oklahoma where Gustav was stationed at Fort Sill. Gustav convinced Jackie to go on a date with him and months later, after a little bit of persistence on Gustav’s end, she finally agreed to be his girlfriend. Although Gustav would be stationed in Camp Casey in Korea for a year in 2016, these two just knew it was meant to be and their love grew over FaceTime calls and trips to both Korea and Hawaii. In 2017, Gustav was stationed in Fort Carson, CO and this time around Jackie suggested that they move in together. They added a sweet little kitty, Pockets (big heart eyes over this name) to their family.

Before Gustav left on a 30 day training exercise at Fort Polk, LA in preparation for a deployment to Afghanistan in early 2018, he proposed in late 2017 while hiking in Colorado and Jackie said "Yeeeah!" A little over a year later these babes came down to the Southwest to party with us and the rest is history!

Gustav and Jackie’s wedding day details were incredibly reminiscent of both their journey together and included lots of super cool New Mexican touches. For her “somethings” Jackie borrowed intricate turquoise jewelry from her mother, mother-in-law, stepmother, grandmother, and sister (and we’re still very obsessed with it all). She even topped in off with the PERFECT turquoise barrette (queen of New Mexican style much?). Gustav also chose some Southwestern flair with one our old favorites, bolo ties. These two also had the most perfect ceremony on one of Los Poblanos’ many gorgeous green lawns and with a little floral magic from Floriography, this ceremony had a stunning, yet modern floral-adorned wooden arch. Gustav and Jackie followed up their tear jerking ceremony with romantics in ALL of our favorite spots: the iconic lavender fields, the dreamy LP driveway, and a few quick moments at the bar in El Campo! This night only got better as their DJs, and close friends from camp, the Bonser Brothers dropped the most fire wedding playlist we’ve heard in while featuring everything from The 1975 to Lil Nas X to Death Cab for Cutie to Kenny Loggins. Their guests were in full on party mode, some were cutting it up on the dance floor and some decided that it was high time to take a dive into Los Poblanos’ pool! Gustav and Jackie capped off the celebration of the summer with an epic sparkler exit!

Gustav + Jackie, you guys were something sooo incredibly special, cheers to a lifetime of being the coolest couple around!!
