Meredith + Matthew, a Breathtaking Santa Fe Wedding

On a chilly yet gorgeous November day, long-time lovers Meredith and Matthew put on ring on it in the heart of Santa Fe. This joyous day was, from start to finish, one of celebration, love, and genuine connections.

Long before saying “I do”, Matthew and Meredith first crossed paths at a Chipotle all thanks to Tinder. And even though neither of these cuties are fond of Chipotle, they found that they were both extremely fond of the Astros, traveling, and of course, each other. For the past six years, these cuties have traversed the globe, made a little home in Houston, and fallen more and more in love with one another. Matthew proposed in the spring of 2021 and these two began to plan their next chapter together.

After deciding on The City Different for their nuptials, these angels knew that they wanted nothing short of a dream team for their wedding day. And thanks to the magic created by Just Lovely Weddings, this late fall day was an absolute fairytale. From Meredith’s divine bridal glam by Genica Lee to the world’s softest, yet most beautiful florals by Renegade Floral to all of the little details by Funky Olive Designs, every last moment of this classically black and white day was filled with stunning, yet modern touches. To top it all off, these cuties not only had the sweetest first look ever (just peep Matthew’s custom socks with Meredith’s face on them), but they made extra time to roam around the Santa Fe Plaza with us, making for the most cinematic of evenings. We loved seeing Matthew and Meredith revel in their newlywed bliss surrounded by all of their friends and family as they danced the night away.

We adored these kindred spirits beyond belief and will truthfully always be Meredith and Matthew’s biggest fans. Cheers to married life hunnies!!!

2022, a Year with the ALP Team

2022 was truly a year filled with the deepest amounts of love, unparalleled connections, and unforgettable humans who we were lucky enough to cross paths with on wedding days and beyond.

This year took us everywhere and back again, from Sin City to Mexican beaches to the heart of Texas Hill Country to all over The Land of Enchantment, leaving us surrounded with wonder and adoration. We know that the new year will bring even more places, even more breathtaking weddings, and even more love stories, but for now we’ll continue to revel in all that this year gave us.

John + Divya, a Heavenly Santa Fe Wedding

On perhaps one of the most gorgeous November days, sweethearts Divya and John made their love official with a colorful, multicultural, and joyful day in the middle of Santa Fe. These Minneapolis babes brought an incredible amount beauty to the Southwest for a truly unforgettable celebration.

These angels first met several years ago through mutual friends during a summer outing at karaoke bar, The Vegas Lounge. Upon feeling that initial spark, John proceeded to sing “Kryptonite” by 3 Doors Down on karaoke and even though Divya claims that she was unimpressed by his song choice, she was still drawn to him. And while both of these two were incredibly busy with work, school, and life, the stars finally aligned in winter of 2016, allowing for John and Divya to make their first date a reality. A few years down the road on their fifth anniversary, John proposed to Divya while out on a walk with their sweet pup, Phoebe and then surprised her with all of their close friends and family at a local brewery.

For their nuptials, these cuties knew that John’s home state of New Mexico would make the perfect backdrop for their multicultural wedding and immediately fell in love with La Fonda on the Plaza. Divya and John combined both of their backgrounds seamlessly into their day: from a Hindu ceremony to honor Divya’s family to a traditional ring exchange to an amazing outfit change during their reception. Every last inch of this day was full of color, love, and genuine happiness. Seeing these two absolutely blissed out during their first evening as newlyweds was truly such a dream, making this wedding one that we’ll never forget.

Cheers to these soulmates and all of their adventures ahead, we know that Divya and John will continue to bring so much light into this world.

Wedding Inspo - Moody + Modern Weddings

As the days get shorter and the nights get longer, its not hard to notice that weddings get just a little bit more moody and romantic. This season our couples took that dark, romantic aesthetic to the next level with truly unparalleled weddings.

While classic nuptials and boho celebrations still had a hold on 2022 weddings, it was soirées with the perfect blend of modern and moody details that took center stage. Wedding Inspo - Wedding Cakes

If you know our team, you know that wedding cakes hold such a big space in our hearts. Truth be told, we’re downright obsessed with seeing how our couples bring together their unique style with this traditional staple.

Each and every season brings out new cake trends as well as the classic styles we’ve come to absolutely adore over the years. We’ve been crushing so dang hard on all of the funky shag rug cakes, incredible heart-shaped beauties, and those pressed flower darlings, but we’re also major fans of those ever-so-stunning buttercream floral cakes that compliment literally any wedding out there. And the best of all is when we get to witness a perfect blend of a tried and true trend with something brand new (peep that floral cake adorned with custom made jewelry shapes below!).

2021, a Year with ALP

After the truly life changing year the was 2020, we knew that this year was going to be incredibly special as the world finally opened back up for big weddings and celebrations of all kinds. Our 2021 couples filled our cups to the brim with the must stunning days that we’ll cherish for seasons to come.

If going back to a full wedding season wasn’t exciting enough for us, we were also beyond lucky to travel to so many gorgeous new locations this year. From the vast wine country of Austin to the dreamy mountains of Taos to the ever mystic Ghost Ranch to all the new little spaces in Santa Fe, our scenery was far from the ordinary. On top of this, so many of our couples were finally able to celebrate with all of their friends and family, an experience that we will never take for granted ever again.

Wedding Inspo - Top 5 Santa Fe Wedding Venues

Being from the gorgeous state of New Mexico, we spend a whole lot of time in our beautiful capital city of Santa Fe. We picked our top five places to tie the knot in The City Different and, dang, are they dreamy.

From the adobe-adorned plaza to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to way out in the desert, there are so many uniquely stunning places to say “I do” in and around Santa Fe. We adore spending time at La Fonda on the Plaza and La Posada de Santa Fe, both of which are located right near the heart of the city and have the most divine, historic architecture. We’re also head-over-heels for all the venues out in the wilds of New Mexico. From Georgia O’Keeffe’s beloved gem Ghost Ranch to the the hidden mountain beauty of Four Seasons Santa Santa Fe to the eclectic, wildly unique vibes of Hacienda Doña Andrea, couples have a plethora of ethereal, Southwestern spots to make it last name official.

Tom + Justine, an Elegant Santa Fe Wedding

When New York lovers Tom and Justine reached out to us almost two years ago to capture their day, we knew it was going to be one for the books. These two brought all that East Coast glam to the heart of the Southwest and we’re still so incredibly obsessed with it all.

These stunners fell in love after meeting in 2017 and have been together ever since. They’re currently both attorneys and live in New York City with their sweet sweet labradoodle Sam. Before the pandemic, we got to hang out with them for the dreamiest Central Park engagement session we’ve ever seen and we’re still so in love with it.

Even though 2020 forced them to change their wedding date several times, Tom and Justine were still able to do the dang thing this spring at dreamy little La Fonda on the Plaza. Not even crazy weather could keep these sweethearts from saying “I do” surrounded by all of their family and friends. From their soft, yet classic florals to Justine’s beyond elegant bridal look to the most perfect first dance, these two set the bar so high. We adored catching their emotional first look and the most magical post-rain shots right after their ceremony.

While our 2021 wedding season is in full swing and we’re obsessed with all of the new, stunning trends coming into the picture this year, we’re forever in love with easily one of the most iconic trends of all, soft minimalist weddings. These days are seriously everything to us and, truthfully, its not hard to see why.

A twist on the ever romantic classic wedding trend, soft minimalist weddings combine that old style glam with a dash of modern chicness. For us, there’s so much to adore about this trend. Whether its the sleek bridal gowns, the understated yet beautiful florals, or even the clean and simple details, we find something new to to crush on every single time. We love the way that minimalist weddings can take place at a lavender farm, in a backyard, or even on a rooftop in Santa Fe! Our couples who chose these elegantly simple days always know how to make their celebrations effortless and beyond lovely.
