Where to Elope in New Mexico - A Few of Our Fave Venues

In the aftermath of 2020, so many soon-to-be newlyweds are looking towards celebrating just a little bit differently this year. Couples are trading in giant wedding bashes for much smaller, intimate days and we’re so dang here for it. New Mexico is brimming with incredible places to make it last name official, even if its just you and your boo!

From a tiny adobe dwelling in the heart of Old Town to a majestic hacienda high in the mountains of northern New Mexico to a legendary lavender farm, there are so many unique, equally stunning places to finally say “I do” in the Land of Enchantment. We’ve been overwhelmed with inspiration by seeing our couples do the damn thing no matter what and we’ve been dying to share some of the most stellar spots for elopements.

Here’s to all the tiny, unique nuptials out there, we can’t wait to see even more Southwestern elopements!

Wedding Inspo - Edgy Weddings

We’ll always be the biggest fans of super glam, classic weddings and of those incredibly beautiful, chic, boho weddings, but we have a whole lot of love for those badass, do-whatever-you want, completely unique edgy celebrations. These days have been some of the wildest, most stellar days around and its not hard to see why we’re obsessed with them.

Edgy nuptials not only let couples do something special and different for their day, but these days also make anything possible. You want to wear a painted leather jacket for your special day? Check. Do you want a moody, insanely unique bouquet? Check. And do you wanna ride off into the sunset with the love of your life on a motorcycle? Also check. Everything about these days leaves us feeling so inspired and like the sky is truly the limit.

Cheers to doing the damn thing however the heck you want to and making it the most killer way to start forever with your lover.

Wedding Inspo - Intimate Weddings Part II

Earlier this year we posted a blog about some of our favorite intimate wedding inspiration, but after about a dozen more tiny weddings just in the past few months, we decided to make a part two!

If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a dozen times, we ADORE intimate weddings. Everything about these little weddings is absolute perfection, from being able to spend more time with your guests to having a less limited budget due to overall lower costs to even just being able to enjoy more moments soaking up those first few hours of marriage. Over the past few months, we’ve been absolutely blown away by how our couples have taken intimate weddings to the next freaking level. Backyard weddings with all the pretty garden details, stoop weddings followed by mini parades, and the most adorable little farm weddings have just been the beginning of a whole new era of micro-weddings.

We’re not sure when giant weddings will be a consistent possibility in the coming months, but dang are we thankful for these beautiful, heartfelt, downright incredible intimate weddings. We can’t wait to share even more of these gorgeous days still to come!

Angie + Brittany, a Heartfelt Backyard Wedding

Even though 2020 has been a whirlwind for both our team and our couples, we were beyond lucky enough to cross paths with two of the most kindhearted lovers around, Angie and Brittany. Not only did these two completely re-plan their wedding, but they still created the most heartfelt, beautiful little summer evening.

These babes first met in 2014 while in grad school at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and even though they had known each other for awhile, they really started to click during a night out with friends. On that same night, and after Taco Bell and a little bit of tequila, these two shared their first kiss. Ever since then, Brittany and Angie have fallen deeper in love with one another and have built the sweetest life together. From their shared passions of gardening, cooking, and hanging out with their cutie pets (Mimi the dog and Indica the cat) to striving to make the world a better place (all while having the most fun in life), we’re unbelievably inspired by these two.

In late 2019, Brittany and Angie decided to make their love official. After looking at rings together, they both knew it was only a matter of time before an imminent proposal. In December, right before Angie’s birthday, Brittany proposed in their living room (while both were in their PJs with only their pets around). Angie proposed soon after in January while they were in their backyard (forever in tears over sweet, at-home proposals).

After their initial wedding plans fell through due to the madness that is 2020, Brittany and Angie not only changed direction, but they did it with the most gracious, kind outlook. Scaling down their day to a tiny backyard celebration, these two had a limited amount of guests in-person with them and the rest of their friends and family members on Zoom. Their vows moved everyone present (physically and digitally!) to tears and we were so blown away by the outpouring of love and admiration for these sweethearts, from loved ones both near and far. To top off their deeply genuine nuptials, Brittany and Angie spent a little time with us for some of the most endearing romantics, including everything from the dreamiest backyard-garden snuggles to casual smooches in a Porsche(!!!). And if all of that wasn’t enough, this day was ultra special thanks to our friend Bagels Florals who not only created some of the most stellar ceremony florals to adorn Darling Details infamous hexagon arch, but this amazing artist also made not one but TWO absolutely divine bouquets!

The biggest thank you to Angie and Brittany for not only trusting us with your day despite everything that 2020 brought, but for being so gracious and downright wonderful through it all. Cheers to an entire lifetime of loving each other to the fullest and for always bringing so much light into this world!

Wedding Inspo - Ceremony Altars

Whether its a mini-wedding with a handful of guests or a giant, incredibly lively wedding with a whole bunch of friends and family members, our couples always find a way to make their ceremonies extra gorgeous, especially when it comes to the backdrops they pick to stand in front of to say “I do”. From stunning floral installations to incredible ceremony arches, we’ve seen it all, but we love looking back at some of the most show-stopping ceremony set ups we’ve seen over the past year.

As expected, we captured a ton of floral arches, from the bright and bold to the soft and whimsical varieties. Arches, both of of the wooden variety and of the purely floral design are becoming a wedding staple that we’re sure will always be a fan fave.

But besides this new classic, what other beauties have adorned alters and made vows that much more special? There are a few pretty little designs that come to mind and wow, are we still drooling over them. Just a few of our current faves include a dreamy mauve-toned geometric backdrop, the most eye-catching florals being draped from a tiny balcony, and a boho rug framed with giant pampas grass arrangements. And, of course, we can’t forget how one of our couples opted for that wide open New Mexico sky to be their ceremony background as they exchanged vows at a backyard wedding in the Santa Fe mountains.

We’re not sure what new altar trends will take the wedding world by storm in the coming years, but we do know that they’ll be absolutely divines and we’re so dang here for it all.

Nathan + Symone, a Styled Elopement in Nob Hill

Once in a while, we get to meet lovers that are so magnetic and beautiful that its hard not to absolutely fall in love with them. Nathan and Symone are that exact type of couple and we were so dang grateful they were up for being a part of the dreamiest styled elopement of the century.

Our girl Symone, who is without a doubt an absolute angel, has been a bride for us before in one of our fave styled elopements a few seasons ago, but this time was extra special for us because we got to capture her with her boyfriend, Nathan. These two lovers are some of the kindest, most down-to-earth, but also up for whatever people we’ve ever met and we feel so lucky to just know them. The love and genuine respect between these two amazing souls is so apparent and honestly, with obsessed with them.

Since we’re living in the age of a pandemic and a whole lot of uncertainty, we wanted to try our hands at a brand new concept for our team, an Airbnb elopement (a trend that has truly taken hold in 2020). Kata Baron’s Casita de Cacti was the absolute perfect location for part of this styled elopement. Filled with lush furniture and divine art by St Jame, this little Nob Hill spot is beyond perfection. Our gals at Something Ginger gave Symone the most gorgeous bridal glow (complete with the BEST red lip we’ve seen in awhile) and Floral Fetish created a beyond stunning sage and white bouquet that matched every single aspect of this day wonderfully. For the coolest, yet still incredibly elegant bridal look, our friends at Sweet Caroline Styles gave us the most flawless bodysuit and skirt. And to top it all off, local jewelry designer Tumble came through with the best little minimalist, yet still stunning wedding bands.

This day was something straight from a dream and we’ll probably never ever stop posting about it on here and on every social media site ever. Thank you to this amazing wedding vendor dream team, we coudln’t have done it without you all. And we can’t wait until Nate and Symone tie the knot for real, count us in :)
