Wedding Inspo - Fall Weddings

As the temperatures begin to drop and the world around us turns to soft shades of orange, we know that fall wedding season is just around the corner. Besides being the busiest time of the year for us, autumn holds so much promise and beauty for our team as we journey out to capture all of the nuptials taking place amid the gently changing season.

From the moody and romantic fêtes to the more subtle and easy-spirited days, weddings in the fall always bring something extra special to the mix. Whether its florals in all hues of yellow and brown or the mystical light of an autumn sunset at the end of a stunning wedding day, weddings at this time of year always bring us full circle in a perfect mix of nostalgia and inspiration.

We’re so thrilled for all of the love stories to be captured at this incredibly special time, we know that we’re going to lean into this fall in the best way possible.

Jonathan + Jocelyn, a Colorful Hotel Andaluz Wedding

New Mexico sweethearts Jocelyn and Jonathan tied the knot way back in 2020 amid the pandemic, but these two decided to celebrate their new chapter with all of their loved ones this spring at Hotel Andaluz in the heart of Albuquerque. These babes brought in the perfect mix of whimsical garden details and edgy downtown views to this little March day.

Even though it wasn’t quite springtime, these two wanted to incorporate bright florals and soft details into their day and the floral angels at Floriography Flowers made that dream into the most wonderful reality. From Jocelyn’s bright bouquet to the plantable floral arrangements throughout the reception, every sign of spring was definitely present at this cutie celebration.

On top of such stellar florals, Jonathan and Jocelyn also incorporated so much of their family, including their new little baby, into their day making for the sweetest of nuptials. They finished off their amazing day with a whole night of dancing and food, truly making their intimate wedding a party for everyone involved.

Cheers to all the whimsical weddings and lovers to come!

Andrew + Deanna, a Stellar Hotel Andaluz Wedding Reception

Even though Andrew and Deanna officially tied the knot in 2020, they finally got to party with all of their loved ones last fall and it was the sweetest fall evening. This downtown celebration was such a special, beautiful day to capture.

These lovers initially held their wedding in fall of 2020 with a beautiful Catholic church ceremony, the dreamiest golden hour romantic,s and then an intimate reception with a tiny group of their closest friends and family members. Flash forward a year later and these babes finally got to hold the amazing wedding bash that they had always dreamed of. Deanna and Andrew incorporated so many of their original wedding details and personal touches into their reception and we truly loved every piece of it. From Deanna’s tiny bridal heirlooms to Floral Fetish’s gorgeous creations to Darling Details’ impeccable reception design, this October day was just as special as the first time we got to see these lovebirds say “I do”.

We can’t wait to see Andrew and Deanna’s love story continue to grow over the years to come, thank you for bringing us along on your little adventure angels!!

Wedding Inspo - Dogs in Weddings

When it comes to weddings and elopements, there’s one guest we adore above all: dogs. We are absolutely smitten each time one of our couples includes their sweet fur babies in their special day and always have to squeeze in a few extra photos (and pets) with them.

No matter the type of wedding, we truly believe that including dogs should be a YES every single time. From the biggest, most elegant days to the quieter, more intimate nuptials, pups really do make everything that much more fun and exciting. We love seeing these precious furry angels ‘get ready’ with their parents, be a part of the ceremony, and (of course) be the star of any and all portraits.

If you’re on the fence about including your pups in your wedding or elopement, this is your sign to do it and to bring us with you!!

Wedding Inspo - Wedding Cakes

If you know our team, you know that wedding cakes hold such a big space in our hearts. Truth be told, we’re downright obsessed with seeing how our couples bring together their unique style with this traditional staple.

Each and every season brings out new cake trends as well as the classic styles we’ve come to absolutely adore over the years. We’ve been crushing so dang hard on all of the funky shag rug cakes, incredible heart-shaped beauties, and those pressed flower darlings, but we’re also major fans of those ever-so-stunning buttercream floral cakes that compliment literally any wedding out there. And the best of all is when we get to witness a perfect blend of a tried and true trend with something brand new (peep that floral cake adorned with custom made jewelry shapes below!).

We’re so dang ready to kick off our 2022 season and see all of those deliciously divine creations every single weekend, bring on all the sugar-coated goodness!

Wedding Inspo - Classic Weddings

When it comes to wedding styles, we have the biggest space in our hearts for all things boho, minimalist, and currently on-trend, but we can’t lie when we say that we adore classic, chic celebrations so freaking much. We love the way that classic weddings perfectly blend the past and the present for the most elegant nuptials ever.

Besides just being obsessed with the sleek, romantic moments of classic weddings (e.g. the pristine black and white details, the simple florals, and the hints of glam), we are in love with how they can happen just about anywhere, Whether its on a ranch in Texas Hill County, in the middle of bustling downtown Albuquerque, at a quiet and tucked-away lavender farm in the North Valley, in the heart of historic Santa Fe, or even in the middle of nowhere in Southern New Mexico, classic weddings take on new life no matter the setting. These timeless days are the weddings we always reflect back on with so much nostalgia and love, their sheer elegance is always enough to take out breath away.

We’re so dang ready for even more of these divine, sophisticated days here in the Southwest and beyond. Bring on all the graceful beauty and all the opulent details.

Andrew + Deanna, an Elegant Downtown Wedding

Although weddings in 2020 may have been much smaller than we could’ve imagined, not an ounce of magic was lost. Even after New Mexico sweethearts Andrew and Deanna rescheduled their wedding (and then rescheduled it again), they still created the most beautiful, intimate day filled with love for each other.

Long before a global pandemic and even longer before these two even began planning their happily ever after, Andrew and Deanna first met by chance through a serendipitous connection between Andrew’s sister and one of Deanna’s closest friends. After these two gals decided that Andrew and Deanna should meet, Andrew’s sister played matchmaker to set up the future lovebirds. Andrew and Deanna eventually went on their first date at Le Trouqet, a French restaurant, followed by drinks at Hotel Andaluz (two places that also made it into their wedding day!!!) in Downtown Albuquerque and the rest is history. Right from the beginning, these two knew their connection was the real deal and something beyond compare.

A few years down the road in October 2019, Andrew proposed to Deanna on the front porch of her college sorority, The University of New Mexico’s Kappa Kappa Gamma chapter. The proposal, a total surprise to Deanna, not only involved one of the most memorable places in her life, but Andrew made sure that all of their close friends and family member were there to celebrate with them. And, being absolute husband goals, Andrew even called Deanna’s hairstylist the day before (!!!!!) to make sure his future finance looked and felt absolutely beautiful for their moment.

Originally aiming for a spring wedding, Andrew and Deanna opted to push back their wedding to the fall after the pandemic shut down the entire world. Yet, despite all the challenges of 2020, these two still started their next chapter together in the most wonderful way. Andrew and Deanna tied the knot with a small wedding at the ever divine Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in downtown Albuquerque followed by a dreamy fall reception at the place where it all began for them, Hotel Andaluz. And even though they were only able to celebrate with a few close friends and family members, their day was one for the books.

While 2020 had halted their initial plans, Andrew and Deanna still pulled out all of the stops for one of the most memorable weddings of the year. Deanna channeled a little bit of modern glam with a whole lot of classic elegance for a bridal look that we’re still day dreaming about. From her ethereal Martina Liana gown (which looked beyond perfect next to Andrew’s sleek black suit) to her epic veil to the tiny vintage details she included, Deanna brought in an amazing amount of intentional beauty to her day.

After their nuptials, we got to steal Deanna and Andrew away for some of the most incredible romantics all over downtown. From murals to iconic downtown architecture spots to the restaurant where they had their first date, Andrew and Deanna took us all over to capture their first moments of absolute newlywed bliss together. And if that wasn’t enough, these babes brought a vintage Mercedes Benz along with them for the most insanely gorgeous, straight-out-of-a-film romantics on a nearby rooftop. They capped off this dream of a day with a quiet reception filled with stunning florals by Floral Fetish and impeccable designs from Darling Details. We loved watching these two soak in all of the special reception moments with their closest loved ones and finally getting to make it last name official.

We were absolutely blown away by Andrew + Deanna’s love for each other and their determination to make the beginning of their new chapter together as beautiful and meaningful as possible. Cheers babes, we loved being a part of your gorgeous day!

2020 - Moments with Alicia Lucia Photography

2020 was by far one of the most challenging years our team has ever faced, yet through all the difficult descisons and make-or-break moments, we still found the light on the other side of it all.

After an intense global pandemic forced our weddings and shoots to a screeching halt, we weren’t sure what to do, but somehow we found a new path and gained a better perspective on our lives, our business, and our community. We found new ways to capture weddings/elopements and support our couples as they navigated this insane year. And we also found even more opportunities to create beauty through styled shoots and portrait sessions. If one thing is sure, 2020 reminded us of why we set out to do what we do in the first place: love. Watching love win over and over and over again this year, despite all of the odds was something to behold. And we once again fell in love with with what we have the immense privilege of doing, capturing those undeniably beautiful moments of pure joy.

The biggest thank you from the bottom of our hearts goes out to every single couple, family, and individual who continually put their trust in us during a year where everything was uncertain, yet everything mattered even more. And to all of our vendor friends, thank you for riding this one out with us, we’ve never had so much faith in the wedding community as we do right here and now.

No year will ever be quite like 2020, and while we’re grateful to see beacons of hope at start of the new year, we’re forever be grateful for the year that gave us all a chance to start anew and to believe in the magic that is love.
