Nathan + Cathryn, a Breathtaking Stakeout Taos Wedding

From the very beginning we just knew that Nathan and Cathryn’s stunning Taos wedding would be an incredibly special day. These lovers brought so much joy and love to their beautiful day up north, we’re truly and utterly obsessed with it all.

These cuties first met a few years ago and even though Nathan was living an hour away in Santa Fe, the distance couldn’t keep them apart. After their first date in Albuquerque, Nathan and Cathryn became inseparable and soon after hit so many amazing milestones together including running a marathon, moving in together, and (of course) surviving the quarantine craziness of 2020. These angels love exploring all of New Mexico’s stunning deserts and mountains together along with Cathryn’s sweet daughter, Taylor.

When Nathan and Cathryn told us that they were making it last name official at The Stakeout Taos, aka the most iconic little spot, we were so dang stoked. These two brought beauty and simplicity to their day, from the most stellar florals by Mini Falls Farm, to the dreamiest views of the wilds of Taos, to the most heartfelt ceremony around. Our sweet bride Cathryn brought some truly unreal bridal details to this day with an elegant, yet modern Justin Alexander gown and beyond gorgeous glam by our queen Genica Lee. And to top it off, Nathan’s restaurant, Paloma Santa Fe, where he works as a chef/partner, catered the entire wedding and created the most beautiful cake for this special day!

Evan + Jocelyn, a Gorgeous Los Poblanos Wedding

When we first crossed paths with Evan + Jocelyn nearly 3 years ago, we knew that this pair was a special & unstoppable force. So when the opportunity came to finally capture their divine wedding at Los Poblanos, it was one we knew we’d never forget.

These hunnies first met several years ago in 2016 through mutual friends while Jocelyn was visiting Los Angeles for a Van Morrison concert. After a day filled with day drinking & a good time with friends, Evan and Jocelyn immediately became inseparable. When Jocelyn had to return to Las Vegas, where she was working on her Masters, Evan offered to drive her to the airport and within a week he also made the trip to Nevada to see her again. Not too long after their initial spark, Evan asked Jocelyn to be his girlfriend at the Los Angles County Art Museum, an extremely special location that would also be the site of his proposal just a few years later.

Despite the continual challenges of 2020 and the pandemic’s constant presence, Evan and Jocelyn found the most glorious journey to their next chapter together. After postponing their wedding an entire year and cutting their guest list down from 180 to less than 30, these angels were able to make it last name official on a beyond serene July evening.

Besides simply being two of the most stunning humans we’ve ever encountered, Evan and Jocelyn also included some of the most heartfelt details into their day. Jocelyn’s ring carries two diamonds that once belonged to Evan’s grandmother, a Holocaust survivor who brought the diamonds to America from the jewelry store her family owned back in Gelsenkirchen, Germany after WWII. And if it wasn’t already beyond obvious that Evan and Jocelyn are soulmates, they realized that the wedding day letters they wrote to each other matched their vows verbatim. These moments and so many of the other highlights that were a part of Evan and Jocelyn’s joyful day, truly made this celebration one beyond anything we could’ve imagined. To top it all off, we were blessed with the most serene weather during a week where we had seen monsoon-like rainstorms and high winds, truly a sign from the universe that Jocelyn and Evan’s love is a force to be reckoned with.

We’re forever enamored with love stories like Evan and Jocelyn’s, a connection that is so deeply influenced by the love that came before it & will certainly inspire everyone around it for years to come.

Garrett + Kyla, a Romantic Four Seasons Santa Fe Wedding

When New York lovers Garrett and Kyla reached out to us about capturing their wedding in Santa Fe, we knew it was going to be the most elegant soirée to date. These babes brought the most incredible details to New Mexico on beyond perfect June day.

Garrett and Kyla’s Four Seasons Santa Fe celebration brought together the dreamiest East Coast style with some of the prettiest Southwestern touches. Sweet bride Kyla opted for a sleek yet completely stunning Savannah Miller gown with the softest bridal glam, a look that paired so perfectly with Garrett’s stellar custom tux from Michael Andrews Bespoke. And to make things even more amazing, these lovers had the most amazingly colorful florals from the wedding queens at Floriography Flowers alongside custom paper goods (complete with turquoise Zia stamps!!!) from Funky Olive Design.

Besides all of the stunning details these two brought to their unforgettable day, Garrett and Kyla’s wedding was also filled with emotional, downright beautiful moments. After the sweetest first look, these cuties braved a little bit of rain for a heartfelt, joyful ceremony surrounded by their friends and family. We got to steal these two away for an unreal evening of romantics (with a few cocktails!!!!) before they partied the night away with all of their loved ones.

If there’s one thing we’ll never forget, its the way that Garrett and Kyla made their day not only beautiful, but so incredibly intentional. Cheers to all the lovers who bring the best of both worlds to their wedding days, we’re truly head-over-heels for it all!

Wedding Inspo - Southwestern Glam Celebrations

There’s no party quite like a party in the Southwest, so when our couples make sure to include tiny pieces of our little corner of the world into their special days, it seriously makes for the best celebrations. Southwestern inspired nuptials are truly something to behold and dang are we lucky to capture them every single season.

Whether its bolo ties, turquoise, or adobe venues, we adore when couples fully embrace all of the charm that the Southwest has to offer. Seeing lovers come from all over the country just to celebrate their new chapter in our pretty home state leaves us on cloud nine. Plus, any opportunity to explore an amazing, authentic part of New Mexico is always the perfect excuse for us to obsess over this gorgeous state.

Cheers to all the crazy-beautiful, wildly fun, downright enchanting celebrations of love to come!!

Dominic + Maggie, an Enchanting Backyard Wedding

On the most divine spring day, Dominic and Maggie said “I do” and dang was it a special day. These lovers are two of our favorite humans and we were so excited to be a tiny part of their dreamy celebration.

Long before they were making it last name official, these lovers first met about five years ago in law school. Dominic was a year ahead of Maggie and ended up being Maggie’s legal tutor. Even though they were drawn to each other and had a ton in common, including their mutual love for the Philadelphia Eagles Football Team, they decided to wait until after the semester to hang out. Dominic instantly fell in love with Maggie’s dog Coco and when they stumbled upon sweet little Popcorn at a local shelter, these babes skipped class to adopt her. After four years of living their best lives with their fur babies, Dom proposed to Maggie on the prettiest fall day at Lake Isabelle in Colorado.

Dominic and Maggie created an incredibly ethereal, yet completely modern wedding at Maggie’s dad’s home in the heart of Albuquerque’s North Valley. Every single detail of this day was nothing short of an absolute daydream. From Maggie’s elegant Sarah Seven gown (paired with her bridesmaids wearing all white!) to holding their magical little ceremony under the shade of cottonwood trees adorned with white and sage florals to the most epic backyard reception designed by Just Lovely Weddings to the unreal romantics all over this incredible property (that was serving major West Coast glam vibes), we are smitten with every last part of this day. And did we mention their killer playlist? Maggie walked down the aisle to Holy by Justin Bieber and these angels picked Til There Was You by The Beatles for their first dance.

Maggie and Dominic set the bar sky-freaking-high for backyard weddings and we’re not mad about it. Bring on all the enchanting, wildly fun, do-it-however-you-want days with the best lovers!

Wedding Inspo - Boho Chic Celebrations

Over the past few seasons a newer trend, that we think is here to stay (!), has become a favorite for so many of our couples. Boho chic weddings and elopements bring together maximalist wedding vibes with unique details for some of the most wildly gorgeous days we’ve ever encountered.

Pampas grass, neon signage, hand-stitched wedding gowns, and that carefree-kind-of-love bring these stellar celebrations together. We adore how boho chic weddings can happen anywhere, whether its on a ranch in Texas Hill Country, in a tiny backyard in Albuquerque, or even at a luxury hotel in Santa Fe. These magnificent days have become a staple for so many of our couples and we are so dang here for it.

We’re so here for all of the larger-than-life, incredibly beautiful boho celebrations this year and beyond, bring on allllll the pretty!!!

Rudy + Deana, a Desert Engagement

Our pretty spring engagement season started with long-time Texas lovers Rudy and Deana. These babes traveled all the way from the Lone Star State with their fur baby, Belle, for a breezy, yet completely beautiful evening in the desert.

Rudy and Deana first met over five years ago and even though they started off as friends, they eventually started dating and have been together ever since. They went to the same college, have a shared friend group, and even worked together for a bit. These hunnies are making it official up in Oregon with an intimate Cannon Beach wedding later on this year.

This evening with these cuties was nothing short of a dream, we’re still so obsessed with Rudy and Deana. Cheers to all the dreamy lovers and to the most stellar Southwestern evenings in our favorite desert spot!

Stuart + Kelly, a Divine Texas Wedding at Camp Hideaway

Last year may have been one with an unbelievable amount of twists and turns, but dang were we grateful that 2020 brought us Stuart and Kelly. Besides being two of the most resilient, wonderful people around, these two knew how to throw the ultimate party to make it official for the third (!!!!!) time last December and we loved being a part of their journey towards tying the knot surrounded by their friends and family.

You might remember these Texas lovers from their dreamy Los Poblanos Elopement last June, but you may not know that these two had actually already made it official with an informal, courthouse ceremony in Odessa, Texas. Soon after, they journeyed to New Mexico for an intimate wedding with only their parents and three close friends at Los Poblanos and let’s just say it was one of our favorite days. We instantly became BFFs with Kelly (and Stuart too!) and got to capture some of the prettiest romantics around our beloved Los Poblanos. However, after life forced these two to once again reshuffle their wedding plans, they invited us Fredericksburg, Texas (aka gorgeous Texas Hill Country) for a December bash we’ll never forget.

Despite it being winter, we couldn’t have asked for a better days for Stuart and Kelly to say “I do” for the third time at beautiful Camp Hideaway. With Kelly’s impeccable eye for design and styling, this December day was filled with some of the most divine details around, from the moody, yet Southwestern inspired color palette of our dreams to the most stellar pampas grass florals by Stems Floral Design to a modern yet elegant Rue de Seine bridal gown (complete with the most killer denim jacket) to little hints of the journey these lovers had shared together in 2020 (especially those custom coozies and that incredibly sweet heart locket on Kelly’s bouquet). We even got to steal Stuart and Kelly away for just a few more stunning romantics with that endless Texas horizon as the ultimate backdrop. These two capped off their pretty ceremony with the dance party of the year and made their getaway in the coolest vintage Cadillac ever!

And even though they went through it all in 2020, our gal Kelly reminds us (and every single couple out there) that, “The wedding does not define your marriage. I know it's so much easier said than done, but don't sweat the small stuff! Go into it knowing things aren't always going to go as planned, and roll with the punches.”

Third time truly was the charm for Stuart and Kelly and damn, were we glad to be a part of every moment of it. We’re so grateful for these two, both of their incredible wedding days, and for one of the most unexpected, yet amazing little friendships we’ve ever made with a couple. Cheers to the Sutters and to doing the dang thing no matter what!

Wedding Inspo - Classic Weddings

When it comes to wedding styles, we have the biggest space in our hearts for all things boho, minimalist, and currently on-trend, but we can’t lie when we say that we adore classic, chic celebrations so freaking much. We love the way that classic weddings perfectly blend the past and the present for the most elegant nuptials ever.

Besides just being obsessed with the sleek, romantic moments of classic weddings (e.g. the pristine black and white details, the simple florals, and the hints of glam), we are in love with how they can happen just about anywhere, Whether its on a ranch in Texas Hill County, in the middle of bustling downtown Albuquerque, at a quiet and tucked-away lavender farm in the North Valley, in the heart of historic Santa Fe, or even in the middle of nowhere in Southern New Mexico, classic weddings take on new life no matter the setting. These timeless days are the weddings we always reflect back on with so much nostalgia and love, their sheer elegance is always enough to take out breath away.

We’re so dang ready for even more of these divine, sophisticated days here in the Southwest and beyond. Bring on all the graceful beauty and all the opulent details.

Embracing the Seasons for Your Wedding,

*A guest editorial blog contributed by Kiera Dean*

Sometimes it seems as though everyone has a summer wedding, but booking your wedding around a certain season is not always possible. Not only that, but you may want to plan your wedding based on your own favorite season. If you adore the winter or thrive in the spring, you can still create a gorgeous wedding.

Are you looking for some fun and easy ways to incorporate the seasons into your wedding planning? Read on to discover more.

Spring

A spring wedding can be perfect, though you cannot rely on the weather. It might be dazzling sunshine, a little chilly, or you may even get some snow. Whatever the weather, you can embrace the colors of spring. Pretty pastels will be the order of the day, combined with deeper berry accents to offset the gentleness. You can plan to have your photographs outside, but you probably do not want to organize an outdoor reception at this time of year. Instead, bring some soft floral accents indoors to give that spring fling feeling wherever you are.

Summer

A popular time to book your wedding, when planning for summer you will want to be outdoors as much as possible. Choose a boho theme and head to the woodlands or fields for an outdoor wedding, hiring a gazebo to combine the best of indoors and outdoors for your reception. Remember that, for summer weddings, cute little touches like having an ice cream van at your reception and serving a lighter meal are a great idea in the warmer weather.

Autumn

Plan to start your autumn wedding earlier in the day if you want to take advantage of those beautiful colours outdoors. You can have fun with the color scheme of an autumn wedding, as nature provides you with such a rich color palette as it is. Either lean into it by accentuating your bridesmaids’ dresses and decorations with rich oranges, plums and reds, or go for a gentler option with soft, more neutral caramels and apricots. This will look lovely as a bouquet, which you can combine with real autumnal foliage for a unique twist.

Winter

A winter wedding might not be at the top of everyone’s list, but if you happen to get that magical winter wonderland with real snow nothing is more enchanting! It’s risky to plan for real snow to fall, but you can opt for an immersive wintery theme that will make guests feel like they’re in Narnia! Go for fully Christmas vibes with rich reds and golds to accent your wedding dress and decorations, or keep it chic with silvery sparkles. You can also get away with serving food that is a little warmer and cozier.

Don’t forget to think about timings – the amount of daylight you get during the winter is drastically reduced, so you need to factor this into your photo schedule.

Feeling the seasonal inspiration? Whatever time of year you decide to tie the knot, you can turn your wedding into a beautiful reflection of you.

Bridal Inspo - A Bewitching Harvest Moon Shoot

Truthfully, there is nothing more magical than bridal shoots in the middle of the desert, but there is something extra enchanting about a shoot on the eve of the Harvest Moon (a full moon that only happens once a year). We journeyed out into the mystical New Mexico terrain for the most spellbinding collaboration with some of the most wonderful creatives around.

Something that truly astonishes us about our beautiful home state is how captivating it continues to be year after year, shoot after shoot. We headed out to one of our tried and true locations, yet still managed to find new spots to capture the beauty this early fall evening brought to us. From a hidden field to the most otherworldly rock formations to the most incredible view of THAT moon, this styled bridal session was one that truly took our breath away.

We teamed up with a few of our fave local vendors in addition to some new creatives for this unreal evening. With the most stunning two-piece gown from Gypsy Bride paired with a perfect straw hat by Gigi Pip alongside the gorgeous dried florals from Albuquerque Florist and the most divine bridal glam by Genica Lee (we still can’t get over that berry lip or those beautiful loose braids), we like to believe that we pulled off a truly alluring bridal shoot. We’re forever obsessed with this evening all of the quiet beauty it brought to us.

Evenings like this always make us crave more mesmerizing bridal moments in the endless Southwest desert. Fingers crossed for even more brides who take us out into the wilderness to create even more divine beauty.

Russell + Katie, an Old Town Farm Elopement

Last September we got to return to one of our favorite little venues hidden right in the heart of Albuquerque, Old Town Farm, for Russell and Katie’s beautiful elopement. Being a part of these lovers’ day was such a gift and we’re beyond grateful for this lovely, quiet evening with them.

Russell and Katie first connected in Columbia, Ohio through a dating app and even though they initially didn’t meet for several months, they immediately hit it off. A few years later, their cutie son Jack was born and five short months after starting their little family together, Russell proposed on Christmas morning of 2018. Katie, of course, said yes and these two started off their engagement by picking out rings together.

After their initial spring wedding was postponed and then cancelled due to COVID, Russell and Katie decided to alter their celebration down to just a tiny elopement. They were able to keep their dreamy little venue, Old Town Farm, for the most beautiful fall evening. Katie’s modern yet elegant bridal style was absolute perfection and we adored how our angel Genica Lee gave this beauty the most glam hair and makeup. We’re also still very obsessed with the dark, yet colorful florals Albuquerque Florist created for this evening (especially those cranberry tones). These two said “I do” during the most perfect golden hour glow alongside their son and two of their closest friends. After their quick nuptials, we got to spend even more time with Russell and Katie as they soaked up those first hours of being married.

We were so inspired these two and so dang honored to be there to capture the next step of their journey. Congrats Katie and Russell, we adore you and your elopement so much!

Wedding Inspo - Intimate Weddings Part II

Earlier this year we posted a blog about some of our favorite intimate wedding inspiration, but after about a dozen more tiny weddings just in the past few months, we decided to make a part two!

If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a dozen times, we ADORE intimate weddings. Everything about these little weddings is absolute perfection, from being able to spend more time with your guests to having a less limited budget due to overall lower costs to even just being able to enjoy more moments soaking up those first few hours of marriage. Over the past few months, we’ve been absolutely blown away by how our couples have taken intimate weddings to the next freaking level. Backyard weddings with all the pretty garden details, stoop weddings followed by mini parades, and the most adorable little farm weddings have just been the beginning of a whole new era of micro-weddings.

We’re not sure when giant weddings will be a consistent possibility in the coming months, but dang are we thankful for these beautiful, heartfelt, downright incredible intimate weddings. We can’t wait to share even more of these gorgeous days still to come!
