If there’s one place we love to be, its way up high in the stunning mountains. Whether it be in New Mexico, Colorado, or beyond, engagements in alpine air are always just a little extra magical.

Being in the heart of the Southwest means that we are just a skip away from some of the dreamiest forest locations and dang do we feel so dang lucky. Whether our couples take us up into the Sandis Mountains, all the way us to Taos Ski Valley, or even as far as Breckenridge, we’ve seen some pretty dreamy woods. We love when our couples take us on the sweetest adventures for their engagements, it’s truly a highlight of our season.

Rebekah + Chance, an Adventurous Desert Engagement

Washington angels Chance and Rebekah traveled back to their home state of New Mexico for a beyond enchanting evening out in the desert. These hunnies brought all the romance to their engagement session and we’re so dang here for it all.

Even though these babes live way up in the Pacific Northwest now, their love story began several years ago right in Albuquerque. Both Rebekah and Chance were undergrads at The University of New Mexico when they first crossed paths and it was truly meant to be. A few years after graduating, these cuties made the move west were they now live in Seattle. To make their journey even more sweet, Chance proposed to Rebekah while vacationing in Indonesia with the most stunning sapphire engagement ring.

We can’t wait to celebrate these angels at Hotel Albuquerque this fall, we know it’ll be the dreamiest nuptials of all.

Wedding Inspo- Married in the Mountains

In our gorgeous home state of New Mexico there are so many stunning spaces and places to be wed, making it easy to become overwhelmed in a sea of beautiful options. But with endless mountain ranges in our backyard, we know that any celebration in The Land of Enchantment will be one of truly magical heights. From the Sangre de Cristo range to the north to Abiquiu’s famed rainbow of rust mesas, our lovely little Southwestern home has no shortage of beautiful landscapes.

Engagement Inspo - Engagement Style Look Book Fourth Edition

While we’re taking a little bit of downtime in between wedding seasons, we couldn’t help but reflect on all of the killer engagement looks we encountered over the past year. Our couples always bring their best styles to their sessions and dang are we truly obsessed with them.

From soft floral prints in the foothills in the summer to sleek camel coats in Old Town in the dead of winter to bold and moody spring styles way out at Ghost Ranch, our 2022 couples really pulled put all of the stops for their little engagement sessions. 2022, a Year with the ALP Team

2022 was truly a year filled with the deepest amounts of love, unparalleled connections, and unforgettable humans who we were lucky enough to cross paths with on wedding days and beyond.

This year took us everywhere and back again, from Sin City to Mexican beaches to the heart of Texas Hill Country to all over The Land of Enchantment, leaving us surrounded with wonder and adoration. We know that the new year will bring even more places, even more breathtaking weddings, and even more love stories, but for now we’ll continue to revel in all that this year gave us.

John + Jaclyn, a Dreamy New Mexico Session

Darling couple, John and Jaclyn, spent an evening with us romping around the golden-lit foothills of the Sandia Mountains. These two are a prime example of “it was the best of times, it was the worst of times",” finding love in the midst of the pandemic. Hinge connected them initially and from there they invested time into really getting to know one another and cultivate a dynamic founded in mutual respect and empathy.

When they aren’t dazzling us in front our cameras, these two can be found in the classroom. Jaclyn is pursuing an English Language Arts license to eventually teach in a high school setting and John taught science for several years before deciding to pursue his PhD in Evolutionary Anthropology. His dissertation will eventually bring John to Uganda for field work with Jaclyn being his greatest encourager. Aside from hitting the books, these two enjoy exploring and adoring the outdoors as well as immersing themselves in one another’s special interests which include ballet, skiing, and so much more. We see big, wondrous things ahead for this dream team and we can’t wait to see where their journey takes them!

Alex + Blakely, a Lighthearted Desert Engagement

Sweethearts Alex and Blakely shared a swoon-worthy evening with us in the Sandia foothills. Their undeniable chemistry and amazing sense of humor made for the most playfully romantic engagement session.

These two connected during their last year of high school over a mutual love of pizza and have shared many memories (and pies) together since. After eight whole years together Alex proposed to Blakely last October in Breckenridge, Colorado and they hit the ground running with planning what is sure to be the most stunning September day.

These lovebirds will tie the knot this fall at the ever beautiful Four Seasons Santa Fe with a classic, yet bohemian day alongside all of their loved ones. We can’t wait to see Blakely and Alex’s vision of natural desert tones come to life through all of their dreamy details.

Jake + Becky, a Magical Ghost Ranch Wedding

Jake and Becky’s long awaited wedding at Ghost Ranch was an incredible celebration that we’ll truly never forget. These Austin angels brought the best of everything Southwestern glam to northern New Mexico for the most dreamy June day.

Many years before they became husband and wife, Jake and Becky first met in college at The University of Kansas. These two ended up sitting next to each other on their first day of college in a 1000 person lecture hall and have been inseparable ever since. Years later, Jake proposed to Becky with on the prettiest evening with their sweet pup Millie at Ziller Park in her hometown of Austin, TX. These cuties decided that Ghost Ranch was the perfect place to tie the knot after they had both spent lots of time in New Mexico together.

After planning (and then re-planning thanks to covid), Jake and Becky were finally able to start their next chapter together in The Land of Enchantment surrounded by all of their friends and family. They decided to use the colors of the desert and the beautiful expansiveness of Ghost Ranch shape their day. For their ceremony, these lovebirds chose Pot’s Hollow, a secluded area filled with cottonwood trees, to make their “I dos” extra romantic. After making it last name official, we got to roam around this mystical Southwestern landscape for the portraits of our dreams. To top it all off, our design and planning queen Just Lovely Weddings created the most beautiful reception tent filled with soft boho details, dreamy florals by Viva Flora, and the most magical atmosphere to party the night away

Wedding Inspo - Northern New Mexico Weddings

While Albuquerque and Santa Fe might be two of the cities we frequent the most for dreamy weddings, we can’t deny the absolute enchantment of northern New Mexico. From the painted deserts of Abiquiu to the mystic mountains of Taos to the serene aura of Eagle Nest Lake, there’s something charming to be found at every corner of this little part of New Mexico.

Being from the gorgeous state of New Mexico, we spend a whole lot of time in our beautiful capital city of Santa Fe. We picked our top five places to tie the knot in The City Different and, dang, are they dreamy.

From the adobe-adorned plaza to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to way out in the desert, there are so many uniquely stunning places to say “I do” in and around Santa Fe. We adore spending time at La Fonda on the Plaza and La Posada de Santa Fe, both of which are located right near the heart of the city and have the most divine, historic architecture. We’re also head-over-heels for all the venues out in the wilds of New Mexico. From Georgia O’Keeffe’s beloved gem Ghost Ranch to the the hidden mountain beauty of Four Seasons Santa Santa Fe to the eclectic, wildly unique vibes of Hacienda Doña Andrea, couples have a plethora of ethereal, Southwestern spots to make it last name official.
