Brant + Sharayah, a Colorado Wedding at Paradise Ranch

After 2020 forced them to change their wedding plans not once, but twice, Las Cruces lovers Brant and Shay finally said “I do” high up in the mountains of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. This pretty day had some of the most beautiful views around!

Paradise Ranch, a hidden gem of Colorado, provided the perfect place for every single piece of Brant and Shay’s day. From the coziest bridal suite where our queen Genica Lee gave Shay the most heavenly bridal glam to an open field with a free-flowing stream for the sweetest first look to the most rustic-chic open air cabin for a dreamy first dance, this location was absolutely made for these lovers. To top off an amazing ceremony and reception, we got to sneak away with Brant and Shay for the most stunning golden hour romantics, complete with all those infamous Colorado views.

This quick trip up to Colorado was endlessly beautiful, cheers to a lifetime of love together Brant and Shay!

Wedding Inspo - Groom Style Third Edition

While its true that we have a huge affinity for stellar bridal style on the blog, we can’t help but share a little bit of love with our stylish, dapper, and downright handsome grooms! Not only are these guys total on-camera knockouts, they’re also some of the kindest, most personable dudes you could ever ask for on wedding days!

We love a sleek, traditional black suit or tux, so how do grooms elevate this classic style? Our grooms have tapped into everything, from incorporating Southwestern flair with bolo ties or designer cowboy boots to adding personal touches like a cool pair of sunglasses or a surprise pop of color in their boutonniere or suit jacket lining!

And we’ve had plenty of grooms chose other colors for their wedding days suits as well including blue, grey, tan, and even mix-and-match colors! We’ve loved seeing how these guys dressed up colors other than black for their big day and adored seeing so many unique details including ties with tiny prints on them (from polka dots to florals) to broaches (instead of a traditional bow tie or tie) to opting for unique textures like wool.

Last season we saw an incredible variety of groom style and honestly we’re thrilled to see what our next guys have in store for us, we’re crossing our fingers for a few extra daring grooms with non-traditional suit colors! Until then, take a look at these wedding day hunks, we had the best time capturing each one of these wedding day hubbies!

Conner + Laura, a Winter Wedding at Los Poblanos

We closed off our 2019 season at our home away from home & the always magical Los Poblanos with long time sweethearts, Conner and Laura! From their beautiful nuptials at the historic San Felipe de Neri Church, in the heart of Old Town, to the absolute PARTY they threw at Los Poblanos, this magical winter day was absolute perfection.

Long before they said “I Do”, Conner and Laura met in high school right here in Albuquerque. Laura always had a little crush on Conner, who shared the same friend group with her, but nothing came of it until they both attended the University of New Mexico. Conner finally admitted that the crush vibes were mutual and they’ve been together ever since (a little over 8 years to be exact!). After college, and a few years of long distance love, these two landed jobs in Portland, Oregon where they now work for the same digital/social media company! To round off their already amazing relationship, Conner proposed at Los Poblanos in October of 2018 with not only a ring, but a puppy too (!).

Their pretty November day had a ton of subtle, genuine touches and intentional details. They chose to only invite people that they both knew personally to give their wedding a very intimate feel (which we adore!), and include accents that weren’t too sappy or over the top. From snowy romantics to incredibly fun bridal party moments to one of the prettiest floral installations we’ve ever seen, this day was full of so many things we love.

Conner and Laura, your day was the best way to finish off an amazing season, cheers to so many more years of love (and more puppies!).

ALP Team Picks - Bre's Fave Weddings

Last, but certainly not least, is our girl Bre and her favorite weddings! Known for her stunning work with our team as one of the best second shooters on the planet (and the boss babe of her own newborn photography business), she stepped it up and beautifully lead shot five of our weddings in addition to a bunch of our engagement sessions (including the most amazing Central Park session in NYC)! She’ll be back this season as both a lead and a second photog, and she shared her favorite weddings from 2019. We can’t wait to see how she captures some of our lovers in 2020 and allll we can say is #gobrego

Emilee and Ben:
I loved the style that Emilee had for her wedding. The slick hair back with the bold red lip is something you don’t see often and she pulled it off so well. The groom is a golfer and they got married on the golf course which was a great personal touch. This couple grew up together, grew apart and came back together at a family gathering and now they are spending their future together and it was the most precious thing to see and everyone could feel it in the room. Their food was also the best food I had!

Laura and Conner:
I loved ending the year with this wedding at Los Pablanos. The color palette she chose was gorgeous with the landscape. I love ho laid back they were and having the cake cutting and toasts in the library made for an intimate setting. They braved the cold during their portraits and the fur she had for some of her portraits was stunning and fun to incorporate. They also had a perfect balance of having an intimate gathering and having a party.

Anna and John
:
This New York couple was so cool and so down to earth, and we laughed a lot with them. She absolutely nailed her look for her wedding in that stunning Vera Wang gown, and then in their true style, she changed into a more dancing dress when they got announced at the reception. It was Gucci mixed with Granola vibe and I was there for it. It was quirky and elegant and so much fun.

Wedding Inspo - Bridal Bouquets

Wedding trends may come and go, but one thing that’s here to stay forever are dreamy bridal bouquets! We see a ton of these beauties each season and they come in just about every style, from the chic romantic arrangements to the wild boho stunners to larger-than-life ultra colorful varieties. We’re not history buffs, but we wanted to share just a few of our favorite facts about bridal bouquets!!!

The tradition of brides carrying bouquets down the aisle (and, in our case, all over) on wedding days stems back to ancient Roman times. Back then, bouquets were not only made of herbs, spices, and grains, but they were thought to ward off evil spirits and signify new beginnings. However, more modern floral bouquets didn’t pop up in the wedding scene until the mid 1800s during the Victorian era and tended to only include roses (we can’t deny how much we love this stunner of a flower). During this time period, sending specific flowers (based on their meanings) to a lover became increasingly popular, leading many brides to pick flowers for their bridal bouquets that best reflected their ideals.

Flashing forward to the 21st century and bridal bouquets come in soooo many amazing colors, varieties, and sizes that we’re truly overwhelmed by all the beauty! We can’t wait to see what new twists our 2020 brides will take with their own florals. Cheers to hundreds of more insanely beautiful bouquets!!!

Wedding Inspo - Los Poblanos Historic Inn and Organic Farm

Hidden away in Albuquerque’s north valley lies one of the loveliest places on earth, Los Poblanos Historic Inn and Organic Farm. Dreamy, secluded, and downright otherworldly, this beauty of a venue has quickly become the destination for not only visitors to the Land of Enchantment, but so many lovers including a ton of our brides and grooms.

Every single time we step foot on its grounds, Los Poblanos feels mysterious, beautiful, and teeming with wonder. From spring to winter, weddings here always carry an air of beguiling charm, while still feeling like a cozy home-away-from-home. We’re not sure if the endless garden options for ceremonies or all the little hidden spots we’ve discovered for romantics over the years, but this lavender farm certainly lives up to all of its expectations. And with its amazing wedding day staff, complete with our gal pal Chelsea Martinez as Wedding Coordinator, Los Poblanos is nothing short of an absolute dream come true.

Rain or shine, we’ve captured some of the sweetest, most intimate, tear-worthy moments with some of the most amazing couples around at Los Poblanos. We can’t wait to be back at this stunner of a location many many times this wedding season!!!
