Engagement Inspo - Old Town Albuquerque

When it comes to engagements, everyone that knows our little team knows how much we just love exploring national parks and beautiful nature reserves around our sweet little Southwestern state, but we never say know to an engagement session in Old Town Albuquerque. Decked out with the coolest adobe buildings, subtle New Mexican details, and plenty of unique charm, this special little part of Albuquerque always gets us in our feels. If you’re looking for a cozy spot for your engagement session without going into the wilderness, Old Town might just be the perfect fit.

Wedding Inspo - Desert Florals

For our little team, being located in the gorgeous state of New Mexico means that we get to experience all of the amazing traditions, tastes, and beauty of the Southwest. One of our all time favorite details we get to see in both everyday life and on wedding days are desert florals. Our hearts are so happy that more and more of our brides and grooms are embracing some of our most beloved desert plants and flowers in both live florals and desert inspired details. From cacti to succulents to pampas grass to protea flowers, all of these hot climate beauties are something to behold. Check out some of our favorite desert florals for lots of Southwestern inspo!

Matt + Allie, a Cozy Home Engagement

We kicked off our summer engagements in the best way, with a super fun in-home session with Matt and Allie. These two know how to go from crazy in love to super silly in just a matter of moments! Our girl Bre had the best time capturing these two Santa Fe babes in their family home high in the mountains.

These two have been together for 5 years and are making it last name official next May at La Fonda on the Plaza with a sweet, intimate wedding.

Vendor Feature - Genica Lee Hair and MUA

It’s about dang time we feature one of the baddest in the game: the one and only Genica Lee! There is just so much to say about this precious little love and not enough time or space on our little corner of the internet. Beyond Genica’s IMMENSE talent for hair AND makeup, and her timeliness, and professionalism she brings on a bride’s wedding day, there lies one of the kindest, most radiant, supportive, and simply wonderful humans we’ve ever met.

Alicia and Genica go way back when to the very first time Alicia first dipped her toes into the editorial side of the wedding world. She was one of the few wedding vendors who actually gave us a shot and not only shared her talents, but poured her heart out by styling hair for our first ever editorial wedding shoot.

Genica not only provides our brides with a 5 star service serving the most gorgeous, glam wedding looks we’ve ever seen but she also does it with the sweetest, brightest, and most joyful disposition. She is a light that shines oh so bright and here at Alicia Lucia Photography we are so grateful to work alongside someone like G who gives her all to our brides and does it always with the biggest, sweetest smile! Who wouldn’t want someone like that on their wedding day? Check out more of her gorgeous work below and be sure to give her a follow: @genicalee_hmua on Instagram

Patrick + Niki, an Enchanted Vine Barn Wedding in Ruidoso NM

Our summer weddings started off with the biggest bang thanks to Niki + Patrick! These lovers not only had the most exquisite details and the prettiest location, but they are are also two of the most genuine and down to earth people around.

Niki and Patrick initially met in high school and even though it was definitely love at first sight, Niki was not single at the time. But even that didn’t stop Pat from reaching out to Niki’s mom to tell her that Niki and her boyfriend should break up (a bold, but amazing move). Eventually, these lovers got together and had an undeniable connection. Patrick and Niki broke up for a few years while Patrick was off at college, but when he returned, fate brought these babes right back where they belong. Patrick proposed early in January of 2018 at Inn of the Mountain Gods in Ruidoso, NM and even used tiny posters featuring the song “The Greatest Love Story” by LANCO to do it.

Flash forward a year and a half later and these two sweethearts pulled off one of the most beautiful weddings we’ve ever photographed! With the incredible Enchanted Vine Barn as their venue, Niki and Patrick pulled out ALL of the stops for their incredible summer, boho bash. Vibrant florals from our newest floral muse, Forth and Floral, were featured on a gorgeous ceremony arch and throughout the reception decor and if that wasn’t enough flowers, Niki’s family created a giant floral chandler to hand directly above the dance floor. They had a custom neon “Lovers” sign for guests to take photos under & Maimie’s Cakes brought out the big guns with a five tier (!) hand decorated cake with a sweets table completely dedicated to Patrick’s love of hunting! And if ceremony and reception details weren’t enough, Niki surprised us all by being the most glam, yet low-key bride on the planet. She adorned her amazing little Lovers Society sheath gown with jewelry from Kendra Scott and some HOT Christian Louboutin heels (yes we’re still drooling over them). She also brought out a super cute denim bridal jacket from Pistola Denim for a few bridal portraits. To top it all off, Niki and Patrick had the BEST playlist, with everything from Dan + Shay to Beyonce to Shania Twain.

We’re 10000% sure that these two couldn’t have been more of an absolute dream to capture and hang out with for a day. Hey Niki and Patrick, we adore you guys! Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Ganaway & can’t wait for all the Ganaway babies!! :)
