Engagement Inspo - Old Town Albuquerque

When it comes to engagements, everyone that knows our little team knows how much we just love exploring national parks and beautiful nature reserves around our sweet little Southwestern state, but we never say know to an engagement session in Old Town Albuquerque. Decked out with the coolest adobe buildings, subtle New Mexican details, and plenty of unique charm, this special little part of Albuquerque always gets us in our feels. If you’re looking for a cozy spot for your engagement session without going into the wilderness, Old Town might just be the perfect fit.

Randy + Danielle, a Desert Engagement

Randy and Danielle might not be getting married until next year (June 2020) but we can’t help but gush over these two and their incredible sweet love story.

After meeting through mutual friends, these two hung out for the first time at Austin City Limits and immediately hit it off after a weekend of amazing music. And even though they lived in different cities (Randy in Houston and Danielle in Austin) these two made it work and eventually decided to officially call Austin home.

Between being the coolest couple around (they love doing everything and anything outdoors) and having two of the cutest fur babies on the planet (Autumn and Jude), they’re also major couple goals. Along with having fun together (playing Mario Kart and watching Game of Thrones), these two speak each other’s love languages perfectly — Danielle loves how supportive and caring Randy is (he washes her car every Saturday and always remembers to snag macaroons from her fave bakery— insert all the heart eyes) and Randy loves how Danielle is so loving in the way that she always puts others first.

We can’t wait for their Santa Fe celebration at La Fonda on the Plaza next summer, bring on the party babes!

Geoff + Jocelyn, a Rock House Engagement

Last month, we spent a golden hour evening with two of the most fun, light-hearted sweethearts around! Geoff and Jocelyn kept their Rock House engagement sooo carefree and fun that we couldn’t help but share a few of their silly moments alongside their breathtaking romantics on the blog!

These babes have been together for 4 years and met in the best way possible, while petting a dog at the same time. Geoff and Jocelyn like to to keep their relationship loving, supportive, and of course a little bit goofy! Not to mention they share a mutual love for ice cream.

We are over the moon to capture their Monday (!) wedding at Hacienda Dona Andrea this June. We can’t wait to be a part of their incredibly genuine, romantic, and downright fun love story!

John + Anna, a Desert Engagement

A few months ago we adventured into the desert with Brooklyn babes John and Anna. Besides living in one of the coolest places around, these cuties love concerts, brewing their own beer, and visiting our sister city, Santa Fe, as much as possible.

John proposed to Anna in Grand Central Station and celebrated with friends and family after at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in upstate New York. This September, these lovers are going to make it official with a big, amazingly fun wedding at one of our favorite Santa Fe venues, La Fonda on the Plaza. We can’t wait to see what East Coast touches John and Anna bring to the Southwest!

Adam + Jill, a Morning Engagement at Los Poblanos

We were super excited to shoot one of our first pre-spring engagements at Los Poblanos, aka our home away from home and the most magical place in Albuquerque. Adam and Jill’s tender relationship was such a treat to work with and we were stoked to not only capture them in their iconic lavender fields, but in Los Poblanos’ bar, and Jill & Adam’s fave hang out spot/bar: El Campo. We can’t can’t wait for more sweet moments with these darling lovers!

Ryan + Jennifer, a Winter Engagement

If there’s one kind of love story we adore, its when couples get set up by friends and instantly hit it off! A co-worker of Ryan and Jennifer played cupid and had these babes accidentally run into each other at a work meeting. Jennifer couldn’t believe how amazing Ryan’s style was (and that someone could love clothes as much as her) and the rest is history!

These lovers braved some pretty chilly weather with us (in the most stylish outfits by the way) and we captured their fun loving spirits in New Mexico’s wintery outdoors. We can’t wait for their laid back, intimate Sarabande Bed and Breakfast wedding later on this year!!

Colton + Lindsey, a Snowy New Mexico Engagement

If there’s anything we love more than a fairytale proposal its when it takes place at Disneyworld! Colton and Lindsey met when they were only 12 years old, but flash forward to October 2018 when Colton popped the question at the Happiest Place on Earth in front of Lindsey’s family. We can’t wait for their dream day this fall at Hyatt Regency Tamaya!

Ashwin + Lauren, a Snowy New Mexico Engagement

Earlier this year, we took full advantage of the wild snow storms New Mexico threw at us to capture the ever so sweet and serene Ashwin and Lauren. In something straight out of a movie, these lovebirds, who are also both physicians, met while working night shifts at a hospital in Boston. They slowly fell in love over late night snacks and even did a long distance relationship when Ashwin moved to Philadelphia for a cardiology residency. Lauren mentioned that her and Ashwin not only love laughing and bringing out the best in each other, but they’re also best friends. And after three years of loving each other, they’re soooo ready to make this a forever thing.

These babes will also be setting the bar for Santa Fe weddings sky high this Labor Day weekend with a two day celebration! They’ll kick of their forever with a New Mexico inspired, classic, elegant wedding at the iconic Cathedral Basilica of St Francis of Assisi off of the Santa Fe Plaza followed by a vibrant, colorful Hindu celebration (including a groom entrance on a white horse…real life fairytale much?!) in honor of Ashwin’s culture. We can’t even begin to describe just how excited we are for this giant, beautiful weekend!!

2018; A Recap of Our Year

Dear 2018 couples and friends,
This year was a breathtaking, wildly amazing year for the Alicia Lucia Photography Team. From spending extra time at some of our favorite venues, to getting the opportunity of exploring new locations with incredible couples. Besides the glorious details of every single wedding we shot, we couldn’t help but reflect on each and every couple we got to spend time with this year. We rounded up a stand-out shot from every last wedding, engagement, and styled shoot we captured this year. We so loved looking back on all of the genuine love and wonderful little love stories we got to be part of this year.

Cheers to all our our couples and vendors, thank you for choosing us to help you begin the next chapter — we love each and every one of you!!

Love,
The ALP Team

Trey + Clara, an Old Town Albuquerque Engagement

Even though they weren’t typical high school sweethearts, Trey and Clara met through mutual friends in their small hometown of Las Cruces, NM. About six years after initially meeting each other, these two ran into each other by chance at a bar during Thanksgiving break and shortly after, Trey asked Clara out on an official date. They went to a local coffee shop called Milagro and Clara said that it was the best two hour date she had ever been on! Trey even visited Clara three days later when she had returned to Durango, CO where she was attending college and ended up meeting her parents for the first time during that trip. Ever since, these lovers have been inseparable.

Next April these total babes will tie the knot in Ruidoso, NM on their family owned property. Their classic, yet rustic wedding will have a special focus on the gorgeous nature of the space! We can’t hardly wait for Trey and Clara’s big day, spring can’t come soon enough!

P.S. can you believe this total babe Clara did her own hair and makeup in the car for this session?!
